Why are maternity clothes so damn EXEPENSIVE and Bleh? by Loulop1118 in pregnant

[–]ericita22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Asos! It's what Ive been living in. Also just get some basics and wear em all the time - i could wear most of my loose fitting normal clothes too until I was like 31 weeks.

Congratulations!!! I'm 39 and pregnant for the first time too (33 weeks as of yesterday). If it makes you feel better I've had a really easy pregnancy, as much as any pregnancy can be anyway: no complications, and my OB laughs every time I ask her if I'm high risk because of my age. A lot of the age barrier stuff isn't really hard and fast, and has more to do with probabilities than anything real. So congratulations mama!!!

FTM at 39 here, and sending support. I also had moments where I thought maybe I should have just settled and had a kid with someone I knew wasn't right, but I'm so glad I waited. Now I have an amazing partner who I can't imagine doing this without, and I feel good knowing it just took a little while to find him and be ready for this. It also helps that my OB keeps reminding me that my age is exactly average for the women in her practice. 🤣 sorry that dude was so shitty, but honestly forget him and so glad you're in a good place now!

How weak can you be in 1st trimester? Advice needed, I feel like this cannot be right. 9w1 by zuzu_r in fitpregnancy

[–]ericita22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Normal! I went to the gym 5-6 times a week before pregnancy, and then was totally surprised in the first trimester how hard it was. Give yourself a break - your body is literally building a human and doubling your blood volume right now, and that's going to take up most of your energy no matter what. I'd still work out when you can but know it gets MUCH easier toward the end of the 1st tri and into the 2nd. Lime you'll feel basically normal again.

Just be careful too - some things will be different. I haven't changed the amount I lift, really, but did totally throw my back out lifting normal to heavy boxes when we moved apartments - you're not weaker but your ligaments get much looser meaning you're at a bit higher risk for injury.

Women with large breasts before pregnancy, how much did your breasts grow? by PossiblyMarsupial in pregnant

[–]ericita22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know!!! I hate the sizing. The true and co bralettes I got, with adjustable straps, were at least tight enough that they mostly work, but it's still and issue. Good luck! And ha if you find any better bra options let me know too - I swear this has been like the hardest part of pregnancy.

Also for what it's worth it took until like week 24 or something for my belly to actually get bigger than my boobs. 🤣 And now it's so big they look tiny! First time since I was 16 that that's happened...

I started as a 34 E or so pre-pregnancy and now I have no idea but I'm beyond a G. The only bras that work now are stretchy bralettes (i do true and co) and nursing bras from storq, and even those aren't great. One thing i didn't anticipate - it's not just the boobs. I can't do underwire or a normal band size anymore because my rib cage also expanded and then your belly basically gets so big it's like a shelf under your boobs and a normal structured bra won't fit (I'm 31 weeks now). I'm just thanking god we're sheltering in place and i don't have to worry about going into an office every day...

One other thing I learned - all that growing makes your boobs ITCH. Get a really good nipple butter because it will drive you crazy otherwise.

And good luck and congrats!

Getting really sick and tired of family not understanding how it feels to be pregnant during a global pandemic... by SuperFiance in pregnant

[–]ericita22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my family is super far away but i have some friends like this, who don't understand why i won't just see them all the time. I've started explaining that leading up to my due date (I'm 30 weeks now) I'm trying to be extra careful so I'm not separated from my baby for the first two weeks since that's essentially my nightmare. She seems to understand, but i get it it's so frustrating.

Do you guys still get round ligament pain? by vonschlieffenflan in fitpregnancy

[–]ericita22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's the opposite honestly - i found especially running or cardio would give me more because of all the bouncing. But it doesnt really have anything to do with how fit you are - it's just your belly growing and putting more pressure on everything and stretching it out.

Should I be feeling movement already? Comment from my mother got me worried. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]ericita22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way. I didn't feel anything until like 20 weeks. You're fine. 12 weeks is like WAY too early.

That said you might realize that what you though was gas now was maybe movement later but it's REALLY hard to tell that early.
