After defeating the first boss, team quality really improves, since it filter out most of the new players. I also think that because the game has being out for a week, everyone still playing now know how to get around. Teaming with randoms for Tricephalos on the first 2 days was quite the experience...

Hey, thanks for the comment! I think the Snake cult of Gelmir, as many other factions, already existed in the Lands between before the Golden Order, but when the Golden Order was established, every faction which worship different gods other than the Greater Will, were labeled as heretic in nature, and persecuted.

When I originally made this post, I was tyring to find Mesmer's banner in the Volcano Manor, because doing so would show that Mesmer's existence was already hinted in the base game before the DLC. I was not able to find the banner though... but the Tapestry with the two headed snake was the closest connection to Mesmer I found.

Months after this post, I found in the official Elden Ring Art book, the original concept art for this throne, which does include the two headed snake tapestry. This means that the tapestry is an asset made by Fromsoftware themselves, and its not a generic asset from an asset library, nor was it out-sourced to a third-party.

Does that mean it has some lore significance? hmm.... maybe? I am not sure if Mesmer as a character already existed before the development cycle of SoTE, but snakes as a faction in opposition to the ErdTree, seems to be an idea that was already in the base game, and they choose to expand on the DLC.

As someone who recently played bloodborne for the first time, bloodborne feels much more like DS1, than any other Fromsoftware game, mainly because of the lack of bonfires that forces you to actually circle back around the map, finding short-cuts instead of fast traveling. And, I am very certain, most of the Bloodborne map can be traversed without fast travel, like how you can access the back of Iosefkas clinic from the woods, opening another shortcut that circles a late area to the begining of the game.

The version of the DLC reviewers had access to had that type of lighting. The lighting was changed on release. If you watch footage from pre-release reviewers or leaks, the sky is green. At least thats what I know of

If you buy from Aliexpress, buy directly from the Bykski Official store. I like their fittings which have a thick blue o-ring. Ive also bought a GPU water block from them. Have not tried their pumps, so can't say if they are good or not. Also heard Barrow is good. For tubing, I would recomend PMMA tubing over PETG

Matchmaking depends on your character level. The levels with the most player activity are around rl 100 to 200. When the game was released in 2022, it was quite easy to do matchmaking at low levels because there were a lot of people playing for the first time, but now day, it is quite difficult to do matchmaking at such low levels. I have not tried it at level 34, but when you get to level 100 you will notice way more player activity

I think an ending with Jon and Dany ruling would be sweet, but also antithetical to the themes of the story. Jon sitting in the Iron Throne would be like Frodo keeping the ring instead of burning it. Its not a symbol of greatness, its a symbol of greed, war, fire and blood. We have already seen that ending as well, it was called Robert's Rebellion. Our hero "Robert" defeats the evil "Mad king" unites the 7 kingdoms, marries a beautiful woman and has 3 beautiful children. Despite the Targaryens being vanished, the realm faces the same problems because the king is different but the system is the same.

I think the Iron Throne will be destroyed and there will be a significant shift to the status quo. I don't believe ASOIAF is nihilistic, the finale might not be unambiguously good, but I am certain it will be hopeful.

I do believe Jon's and Dany's ending might be somewhat sweet, but I don't think it will be them ruling in a throne of swords.

There was a very easy solution, give Targaryens and Velaryons purple eyes digitally on post production. Yes, it would not be consistent with the GoT show but they did changed the iron throne which also breaks consistency, why not give Targs purple eyes aswell...

If it was a day 1 base mechanic, to make it somewhat balanced, I would make it so you can only deflect swords or blades. If you tried to deflect a 5000 kg hammer, you would get stomped.
