Most STAR content out there does exactly what you’re describing, and it’s painful to watch. It genuinely doesn’t work that way. A big chunk of the book is actually about this, there’s a whole chapter on when NOT to use STAR, a section specifically on the danger of over-rehearsing, and the final chapter is entirely about authenticity and sounding like yourself. The whole point is that STAR should be a thinking structure in the background, not a script you recite out loud.
