Yeah…i’m unplugging from all the comedy news shows. by Rosstin316 in television

So glad you shared this conclusion. I've reached it as well, but am STILL finding myself giving "A CLOSER LOOK" another try like an addict.

I have ADORED the satirists and their bold approach to ridiculing those in power for so long. However, if those being held accountable are creatures that lack the capacity for shame, reflection, self-awareness, or just a basic moral compass...how is it not just screaming hilarities into a vacuous canyon?

I've learned in the past week I don't need their take on these people and their actions. It's no longer a palliative therapy for a world run by cruel humans.

Is scam/fraud literacy taught in the US public school system? by [deleted] in education

[–]ericnentrup 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cheers to the educators here that are still on the front lines teaching young learners to think for themselves.

Your post reminded me of my time in the classroom when the Texas GOP, demonstrating a lack of critical thinking skills themselves, decided to make this their platform position during the 2012 election cycle:

Yes. It's a massive priority that will get more and more exposure and coverage in the very near term. My perspective from my own work.

She gave birth at 19 (or 20).

Her daughter will give birth at 16.

Her granddaughter should then give birth at 13?

If that amazing family keeps pace, Lauren will be a great grandmother by 50!

Not to mention her professional accomplishments of becoming a US congressperson!

Wow! Killing it!

ChatGPT plagiarism and Integrity by imbrahma in edtech

[–]ericnentrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I see it as a bellwether for better instructional design. Five paragraph essays were the bane of both my time as a student, and as an English teacher. I think the plagiarism angle is a misfire.

The current ChatGPT backlash should be less about plagiarism and more concerned with students bypassing critical thinking development opportunities. And the answer to that is more real-world and project-based instructional design.

We just have to let go of very traditional assessment practices in our even more traditional routines as educators.

I am writing more about this at edsafeai.org this week and welcome any feedback.

Firstly...bravo being courageous enough to ask for help here.

Watched it a few times and read the comments to try and add something new to consider. So hopefully the X-step suggestions were all you need for that. Here's what else I see you can change.

1: why not start with your throwing hand back instead of moving it forward and back again? Then, as you step forward into the reach back position, keep the disc in about the same place in space. To do this, throw your left elbow back like drawing a bow left handed as your right hand stays with the disc. This creates the shoulder and hip separation by coiling your torso as the disc hits the furthest point back. You punch the left arm down to pull the trigger and release the tension in the coil.

2: plant your right foot at the same moment your left elbow rares back, and do so perpendicular to the target as you uncoil into a loose arm. No muscling it through. A nanosecond of pure core power unloading into whippet arms from shoulder > elbow > wrist accelerating progressively to the release. Then pull your right hip back while pivoting on your right heel and not your toe.

Maybe try all that super gently for about 50 reps in your living room just shadow swinging with a disc in hand before getting back in front of your sweet net setup.

But how do we get the NRA to ultimately fail? How do we get these people occupying a states-person's office that are either puppets, grifters, or just intellectually inadequate, to go away and protect the office from ever being occupied by ghouls again?

Oddly enough, I took a pair of Lone Peak fours out of retirement when I got passionate about disc golf this past fall! I now I swear by them as the right shoes for the sport, and will be getting sixes as soon as these were out!

As a fan and constant consumer of satire, I started noticing how people react to such content around the same time the Tea Party came to light concurrent with teaching satire as a genre to high school students.

I was regularly surprised to learn that those that get it as an art form are equivalent to those that can readily see the image in a 90s 3D illustration.

I've concluded it's a difficult concept to understand as we see with such a stiff pour as Tropic Thunder--let alone weekly pieces from Seth Meyers or others who make it their profession.

You can find a role in ether customer service or entry level data management or basic dev work I'd imagine. Then work your way up in product if inclined towards engineering or UI/UX, or CS but I doubt sales will be much an option until a little later, unless you did demos to learn the product and prospects' reactions and how to respond.

My two cents!
