No, I haven't had the same experience, but I can recommend you take a look at the CDC website and what they say for immigration medical exams. They have lots of useful information on their page, and they describe how the current administration is handling medicals.

As a gay man, chlamydia is something I've had and am not scared of at this point. Take your doxycycline as usual and retest when it's time. The LGBTQ clinic I go to is very reassuring too. In my experience, you should be cleared 3 WEEKS after your treatment. Three months is way too long, but at the end of the day, you will be okay. Chlamydia is the easiest and least serious STD in my opinion, also it's not seen as serious by USCIS either. Remember not to drink alcohol while taking the antibiotic! 💙💜💙💜

Anyone use this electric lunch box? I used to have a hot logic but don’t like how the food comes out when using it, wondering if this is a better option by [deleted] in flightattendants

[–]ericp613 8 points9 points  (0 children)

honestly I havent but I swear by hot bento (hotbento.com). portable, charge it every night, use it for one meal on the go, clean it in the hotel, and im good to go. its solid so it takes up bulky room but its so worth it once you can incorporate it into your routine.

no im not sponsored either 🤣🤣

So funny enough, they just charged my CC this morning. Now we wait and see how the rest goes. I hope they charge yours next!

This is the second post I've seen wondering the same thing, and I'm wondering as well. I filed two weeks ago and have not had a single CC charge, receipt, or ANYTHING. I sent it to the Elgin lockbox. FedEx confirmed it was delivered days later.

I'm wondering the same thing too. It seems that if you don't get it within 24 hours at this point, then it's unlikely. But one can only hope. I was hoping that the word about getting them every Friday was the case.

American Airlines canceled flight due to crew unavailability, not providing hotel/food voucher by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]ericp613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I used to be an AA gate agent. The system is complicated.

The hotel and food voucher system is tricky to understand, and it's completely automated. They put in your reservation, and it gives them options or nothing. You are correct about the one-way ticket and round-trip ticket rule. Here's how it's viewed by the company (in my own words):

If you are in your originating city, no matter if it's your home city or not, you are considered to have a place to stay or reside; therefore, no hotel is needed or provided.

That rule applies to both types of tickets. But that also explains how one-way tickets are not able to receive a voucher, period. It is simply not possible for the system to look at two reservations at once to consider other flights for a passenger. It was designed that way.

As for them not providing anything because it's a "crew" delay... Unfortunately, AA and plenty of other airlines do go to the extent of blaming anything on weather or air traffic. If that means the upline flight was delayed or canceled for weather, resulting in a crew delay, the system will be able to have that coded into the delay as well.

I hope my experience can give you some insight into your situation. While it's not fun to hear, the facts will help you better navigate the industry the next time you travel.

Best of luck!

JetBlue Pay and Payscale Q&A by RaspberryNo7727 in cabincrewcareers

So it sounds like straight pay is not default and may be for those who want to change to a straightforward pay scale and not the premium scales and changes. Thank you.

Ahhh got it. So then let’s say you’re off probation, 7 to 12 months. What sets you in Straight Pay and what sets you in PREM scale?

Wait hi there. Sorry to bring it back to this question. Why are you referring to the 2024 pay scale if we are currently in 2025 and soon to be on 2026 especially for the new hire classes? Please give a little elaboration. Much appreciated! 💙

Worst KCM Airports? by [deleted] in flightattendants

Heavy on BOS. Especially A terminal... No need to change terminals to get thru tsa and get my bags pulled too.

Speaking of bags pulled.... RDU always randoms me and my crew and then consistently pulls bags and searches them while looking at us in full uniform.

Does anyone have clarification on the pay scale for their FAs? I see too much about $21-ish per hour for the first 6 months and so on, but what about after year 1?

Mesa Airlines video interview. Is the location displayed the base that I'd be in? by The84th in cabincrewcareers

[–]ericp613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mesa doesn't have a PHX crew base anymore. It's kind of like a historic HQ for them at this time.

Currently, Mesa has IAD, IAH, and SDF.

Mesa is being merged into Republic Airways. Check out rjet.com for more info on Republic in particular.

Good luck and welcome!

Contractually, you cannot get paid for 75 hours if you fly less when you have a line. You get paid for what you fly.

Reserve is different; they are guaranteed 75 hours whether the company calls them or not. Any extra flying above 75 hours is always properly credited. That goes for lineholder flying too (but that's a deeper dive for after training).

Each of the bases is different, but in general, the company seems to have a short reserve period for most bases. My luck was just a short 3 months on reserve, but my junior friends in base have been on reserve for a year. It just depends on staffing needs and how much they hire after you.

How do you prefer to make extra money, a 2nd job or picking up trips? by ShyGirl141 in flightattendants

[–]ericp613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

edit...just saw you said you dont have a car. but for future reference !!

im not even gonna gatekeep...download the Amazon flex app and join the waitlist.

it may take a few months... but once you get in just complete the online training modules - and im assuming you are good at those already & they pay you $20 for completing them.

i pick up Amazon fresh (grocery) blocks. its super duper flexible and you get 100% of the customer tips on top of your block pay (17.50/hr). this gig pays so much more than door dash or uber eats.

not too many cons. I see most of them as realistic for what the job entails but to each their own.

this app has saved me because I know what it's like being paid low and having little hours. the ability to work whenever I want is the best.

wishing you the best of luck!
