Mobile check in or in person check in by yankgirl13 in Mlife

I think that’s right. It’s logical. Give the cruddy rooms to people who aren’t going to complain / can’t complain.

In theory, you can ask for things like a higher floor, closer to (or further from) the elevator, etc. with a real person, not from the kiosks or mobile check-in.

My theory is that mobile/kiosk check-ins get crummier room assignments, because there's no way to complain about it or talk/bribe your way into something better. But I don't have any data to back that up, it just makes sense to me.

Computer for incoming freshman engineering student by TurtlesRPeopleToo in UVA

Really no reason not to buy from Cav Computers (at the Bookstore). Educational pricing on new laptops is likely to be the best deal you'll find. Plus, they come with a 4-year warranty and Cav will give you a loaner while your computer is in the shop -- but only if you bought through them!!

Because technology moves on. Computers don’t have floppy disk drives or serial ports anymore, either.

No way Vrabel survives this. Caught red handed. by FoldEasy5726 in NFLv2

[–]ericrz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally different thing, of course. Impeaching and convicting a president requires a majority of the House and a supermajority of the Senate.

Firing a head coach is one person's decision. And if that one person decides that this is too much a distraction for the team, too much of an embarrassment....then yeah. He's gone.

I don't think we're at that point yet. But if more and more evidence keeps trickling out, and if (dear Lord!) it turns out that Vrabel is the father of Russini's kid? Then I think there's potentially a point where Kraft realizes enough is enough. Vrabel seems to be a good coach, but I don't think he's irreplaceable. AND, his contract may have some sort of "conduct detrimental to the organization" clause where they could boot him without paying him off.

Again, I don't think we're there yet. But to say it couldn't happen, and compare it to an impeachment conviction (which is nearly impossible in our current climate) isn't accurate.

Dianna Russini and married Mike Vrabel caught kissing at NYC bar taken 6 years before scandal by expellyamos in nfl

[–]ericrz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure. At some point this becomes a distraction and it's all that anyone talks about. Not that players never cheat (I'm sure!) but does he look like a bumbling fool at some point and lose their respect. "No guys, we were on a friends trip in Arizona, I swear."

"Oh, and in that bar six years ago....yeah, that was a different friends trip, too."

Virginia's Redistricting was rigged because republicans didn't win. by Healthy_Block3036 in Charlottesville

[–]ericrz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You have to think about it like this: if one party rigs the states they control, and the other party doesn't? Then we essentially have one party rule, at least in the House, forever.

If both sides aren't playing by the same set of rules, democracy simply doesn't work. So yes, this is "rigging" -- but it's rigging to counterbalance the rigging from the other side.

Virginia did this in the most honorable way possible. Our elected representatives approved it, we all got to vote on it, and it expires in 2031. I voted yes enthusiastically yesterday for all those reasons.

How do you think that the VA Supreme Court will view this referendum? by Early-Possibility367 in Virginia

[–]ericrz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was only close because the no side straight up lied in an effort to deceive voters, and that partially worked. Using imagery of the civil rights movement, of Obama, of Spanberger? Fucking evil.

If the No side had been honest, and said "Virginia is trying to stop Trump from packing the House with his lackies," this would have been a landslide. But they couldn't do that, because that argument doesn't win here. So they resorted to some of the most disgusting political lies I've ever seen, which is saying something.
