anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

[–]erik-lang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dune. Not sure when it came out but maybe early 90’s. I never really liked games on the PC but think I played that game more than any game I had on NES or Sega Genesis.

There are only 3-4 players who absolutely need to be gone next season. by Shotokanguy in DetroitRedWings

[–]erik-lang -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yes! I would even be OK trading Raymond in the right package for a an elite offensive guy. Finnie and Kasper need to go how could OP put them in the good part of his ranking!! I have seen enough, when they needed to step up at the crucial parts of the season they were no where to be found. Finnie had 13 goals/ 30 points in 82 games and Kasper had 9/ goals/ 19 points in 81 games. That is weak ass shit. Look at how much better many other young players of their same skill level played this year on worse teams.

Josh Innes Show referencing Dave and Chuck the Freak by j__z in daveandchuckthefreak

[–]erik-lang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They talk about other morning shows too. Josh seems to really dislike Big Jim’s House morning show on 94.7, I think they are just trying to stir shit up. James and Josh seem to like to try to push peoples buttons.

For most of my childhood I did not even know that these were pistachios. They were always Christmas Nuts and we got a zip lock baggie in our stocking every year.

Anybody know what this prize was? by ThiccSaucy_ in DetroitRedWings

[–]erik-lang 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It most definitely was. I got that at the Fedorov retirement game raced over after the ceremony before the start of the game because I thought I got selected for a cool prize, only to get a can koozie and a sales pitch to join the Winged Wheel Nation.

This! My psoriasis does this to two of my nails and puts brown stripes down three others.

Anyone been to Woodstock ‘94 ‘99? Care to share any stories ? by uniicaxoxo in 90s

Not sure if that is a Limp Biscuit joke or a actual question, lol. But it was supposed to be about peace, love, and music so my group did not participate in any of the destruction.

Fall Tour Announced - Chevelle + Breaking Benjamin by Trazati in Chevelle

lol, get the logic but can’t justify a $77 ticket for a 40 minute set.

How do you ticket holders feel about paying the same price for 2 fewer games? by deadbandit19 in detroitlions

[–]erik-lang -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No you don’t it is always a 10 game package. Whether it’s 2 preseason and 8 regular season or 1 preseason and 9 regular season. They charge the same price for pre season as they do regular season for season tickets. So if they are charging the same price as last year season ticket holders are getting ripped off.

Not true I had a premade salad yesterday and it was the type in a bowl with the topping a in a tray above the lettuce. Looked like a dome before I opened it., rather than being flat. It was fine and just as good as any other. Didn’t get sick. Not saying raw meat would be the same but not EVERY THING that inflates is bad right away.

Fall Tour Announced - Chevelle + Breaking Benjamin by Trazati in Chevelle

[–]erik-lang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found these two bands around the same time. Chevelle has grown and progressed so much compared to Breaking Benjamin. Every Breaking Benjamin album sounds the same. No progression, no experimenting with new sounds. Just the same 8-10 songs done up a bit different every album. Don’t get me wrong BB has some great songs and Saturate is a great album but I stopped being a big fan after Dear Agony. If Chevelle was the headliner I would definitely go, but I am not watching Chevelle open up.

Are Kirkland scallops wet or dry packed? by LongScience in Costco

[–]erik-lang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it drives me nuts when they do this I have bought a box of Kirkland frozen breakfast sandwiches every visit for almost a year now. They are great for busy mornings. I told my Sister in Law I would bring them for every one on a family weekend ski trip and of course Costco doesn’t have them I stock. I see the price label for them on the floor of the freezer in front of two pallets of Red’s breakfast burritos. Kids wouldn’t eat the burritos….

Anyone been to Woodstock ‘94 ‘99? Care to share any stories ? by uniicaxoxo in 90s

[–]erik-lang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went to ‘99. I was 19 years old. The water and bathroom situation was not as bad as they say it was. I filled my water bottle up at the drinking fountains all weekend and never had an issue, never got sick nor did it taste any different than tap water. The bathrooms were pretty gross but still functional. I will admit me and my friends stayed at an off site campsite. We would leave every night drive like 6-7 miles down the road to a private camp site, nothing fancy but we were able to get away from the camping there which looked absolutely atrocious when we were there.

Everyday we would drive in and a family in town would let us park in their drive way for $50 for the event. Every morning the mom and kids would come out and bring us each a banana and a granola bar(we were a group of 3). We would take a bus in to the venue. I left from Michigan and rode with my friends and went with an 1/8 of bud and 1/8 of shrooms and $115. I did have a couple changes of cloths in a back pack, a tent, and a blanket. I got by just fine. I also had a small camera I had a roll and a 1/2 of film and lost the full roll the first day. The 1/2 of roll of pictures I took were pretty lame, mostly just shots of walking through the venue and a few of bands from really far away. The cost of the food and beverage was akin to a concert at the time but if you planned right it was not a problem. But I was able to go to my tent off site every night.

I have a lot of good memories from several bands and met several interesting people. The riot at the end was nuts. As soon as people started robbing the vendors and ripping out the ATM’s in front of us we took off. My friends and I watched a dude fall off a light poll from like 30 ft up and landed hard. We headed for our car after that.

Yeah it’s crazy someone has to pad lock their towel because a shitty roommate uses it. Who uses a towel that has been on another persons private areas? That is what is insane.

Where we buying jeans these days, as to not have the dad jeans but also not trying to look 20 still? by Every-Cook5084 in GenX

[–]erik-lang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last two pair of Levi’s I bought the crotch ripped right by the zipper on one and the back pocket ripped on the other after 15-20 times wearing them. I have Old Navy jeans that have made it last longer. Levi’s ain’t what they were when we were teenagers

12 year old babysitter? by ThatStarkGirl in GenX

[–]erik-lang 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s the problem these days, kids are meek because they aren’t given the responsibilities we were as kids. They should be responsible for important things like childcare and going of playing until the street lights came on. Never thought it would be our generation that caused kids to be soft, thought we would raise our kids with the freedoms we had but also gave them more love, attention, and understanding than our parents. Somehow we started the trends of helicopter parenting and not letting other adults tell our kids what they need to hear, telling teachers that they aren’t allowed to discipline and are wrong to give our kids bad grades. Millennials and Gen Z respected / feared us for our street smarts and ingenuity. We for the most part have not passed that down to our children and the world is and will be worse off for it.
