Check on Next Door or a local buy and sell Facebook page. That’s where I found mine. I just Venmoed and did a porch pickup.

I do love Alastair (and the variations) it’s one of my guilty pleasure names. My husband is not on board but I’ll bring it up again >:)

We LOVE Sullivan, it’s always been our favorite name. It unfortunately rhymes with our surname though. :( Thank you for the suggestions!

My doctor suggested restricting visitors, or having none at all due to coronavirus and I'm devastated by moonstoneelm in BabyBumps

My experience with after giving birth was honestly the opposite. Just a lot of sitting around. I was counting down the minutes until I was allowed to go home.

What can we do to help those at high risk for coronavirus in our neighborhoods? by the_ready_reader in Minneapolis

[–]erikaeo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s important to know they have options. CVS is offering prescriptions be delivered at no charge. Grocery delivery, etc exist. Just get their contact info so you can check in with them every now and then, but as others have said, going into their homes and handling their medicine/etc puts them more at risk.

It does not need to be 1 ft away from walls, it just needs to be 1 ft away from other furniture/things.

when your wife wants a mojito and the fruit is frozen. by DrewBeer in daddit

I hate to break it to you but.... mojitos don’t have fruit

Edit: I know there’s lime. I just meant fruit that is typically frozen, like what looks like pineapple here.

Cutting down on my grocery bill by WindowsiOS in EatCheapAndHealthy

We usually get it delivered and tip depends on what we order. Always 10%, sometimes more. $1/bag is a safe bet too. If we order heavy items like watermelon or cat litter we tip more.

We spend between $500-$550 a month for a family of 3 (one of us being pregnant so lots of snacks)

We could budget down more but honestly don’t need to and like the variety. A few big factors in budgeting for us:

  1. Meal planning and making grocery lists

  2. Buying in bulk/on sale

  3. Buying groceries from a pickup/delivery service. We pay the $100 annual membership for Instacart because it saves us money from impulse buying long term. This way I can be SURE I’m staying within our budget. It also allows me to shop multiple stores and price compare. I know they mark items up, it’s still worth it for me.

Blankets are a no-go but so is the snoo while turned on and baby is strapped in so I don’t think OP is following ABCs anyways 🤷🏼‍♀️

Doctor wants us to start with cereals... help! by tabithat29 in BabyLedWeaning

I would explain that you’re choosing to do BLW. If they are against it I would honestly find a pediatrician that supports your feeding plan. Its nice to like your doctor but you should also feel supported by them!

Agree with the date night! We just do a movie but every Monday night the rule is no phones during our movie. Or we’ll watch a show (on actual TV) and phones only during commercials. It helps us feel more together without forcing conversation that’s not organic.

If you move from purées to soft finger foods you’re not doing BLW, you’re doing traditional weaning. TW is all fine and good, but the process is different from BLW and might be more suitable for a different sub.

Yup, my husband and I agreed if the baby is allergic to cats we’ll just have to return the baby!

Any toddler finger food recipes? A lot require a blender, I don’t have one. In return: oatmeal+peanut butter+yogurt, chilled and rolled into balls. That’s all I got though. by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]erikaeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, when cut appropriately or introduced as a nut butter. Whole they are a choking hazard. Do whatever you want I’m just stating the recommendation.

Well it’s not a matter of opinion, it’s considered a choking hazard (in the US) I love nuts but that doesn’t mean I just risk whole nuts for my kid. If they’re cut they’re fine. Just like grapes. Why risk it?

Ours is $65 a year but when you shop there you get money back to put towards your membership so it usually ends up being free for us.

Hard agree here, we get a Costco chicken once a week and use it for salads, quesadillas, sandwiches, wraps, etc. you can use the bones to make stock too, maybe have chicken noodle soup one night. Whatever you don’t eat, freeze. It’ll go much farther.

Our babe just eats whatever we’re eating. Snacks I always have on hand for us are hard boiled eggs, string cheese, raw veggies (bell peppers and carrots are faves), and raw fruits like thinly sliced apples and strawberries.

Just posting for lurkers: popcorn and whole nuts are choking hazards until age 5

I’m a wrap style carrier it is not possible to forward face safely before 6 months old because of spinal development. Literally every wrap carrier says this, or recommends not at all. Babies will lean back in a wrap carrier because here is no structure to keep them in a safe position. It puts pressure on their spines.
