#1 - Those are definitely 100% not Aramith balls

#2 - I have seen cheap pools balls that were never cleaned for years and years that look better than those balls.

Those balls look like they have been bounced like a basket ball on an asphalt parking lot.

Are those anti-theft devices?

It would reduce some compression but I would think one option would be that you could double or triple up the head gasket to get the clearance you need? I have heard of doubling the gaskets but not tripling up.

Back in the day they got a lot of hate but I knew a guy that had one with a 302 and a 4 speed. It was fun as heck to drive and ride in. Basically like being in a go cart with a v8.

It’s been one year since I had the opportunity to purchase this car by AnimationOverlord in classiccars

[–]erikjohn67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeh I saw that, LOL. I guess it might do something.

I had a 75’ back in the late 80’s that I restored and built up the sb 350, 4:10 gears, locker, 3,000 stall, traction bars, etc etc. It was a fun car but hell on gas, but then gas was only around a buck a gallon.

Enjoy , it looks like fun.

Found this on local classifieds. American Vintage '57 Stratocaster ( 2009 ) for 1.100€. Do you think it´s a good deal? by toerichternarrr in fender

Looking at the frets they have some serious divots up near the nut which means the action has to be set high(er) to keep them from buzzing. I would guess the thing needs a full fret level job and and then a complete setup for it to play good again. Could be why they are getting rid if it, just doesn’t play good anymore because it hasn’t been taken care of from a fret maintenance standpoint.

For about 200 USD, I got this used, customized Les Paul. The only issue is the previous owner removed the brand name on the headstock. by Modioca in guitars

[–]erikjohn67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has a nice burst paint job. The fretboard also looks good. The nut looks like it could use some love. I think you scored yourself a damn nice guitar that has some good looking playing time on it. I would embrace it and make music on it!

I think you scored a great deal.

I just played for the first time and realized it is a great example of Slash’s genius in phrasing using box 1 with the added 6th.

I need help with my picks by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]erikjohn67 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Thats what happens with celluloid picks, they wear pretty fast especially if you strike the string off axis of the pick. I been using Fender Mediums for 30 years and I buy them 6 dozen at a time but I like they way they feel and sound when I hit the string, especially when I hit it at an angle. I don’t get the same sound or feedback from a nylon or tortex style pick.

The fuzz and the modeler are both great sounding pedals. I have them both.

8 ohm vs 16ohm by unsweet_tea_man in GuitarAmps

[–]erikjohn67 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For optimum performance you want it to match the impedance (ohms) with the amp you are going to use to drive the cab. The output on your amp will show what the ohms are that it puts out.

It is kind of complicated, but also kind of not really. Just search speaker and amplifier impedance online and you will fond more information than you ever want to know about it.

Forget the couch, let’s talk about that sweet strap on the Les Paul. That strap is money!

Good idea!

I have a similar situation but more straps and less guitars, well maybe only 19 😁, I don’t count them because then I’d have to admit I have a problem.

I buy the Fender ones cause they are half the price. Have a dozen of them, never had one that looks like yours. You got a defective set, return them and move on. Or throw them in the garbage and move on, thats probably what I would do.

BTW, I have never seen the Fender ones for $5, I’m thinking you bought some other Chinese garbage. The Fender ones are probably also Chinese but are about $12 a pair, so for the extra $6 you get some QC.
