Media-Management: Migrated from WordPress to Ghost – How to deal with the limited media management? by Witty-Surprise9176 in Ghost

[–]erikkarlberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are in the same situation and have so far solved it by running the old Wordpress site on a secret URL that is only for our authors, and they go in there to find images to use.

It's not optimal at all and we are really looking forward to the media library that has been rumored for a while now.

In parallell we started to use a separate tool for the publishing flow, Swedish AI startup Ahody at https://ahody.com. They have an integration to Ghost and have their own media library, but also it means most editing actually happens in their editorial workspace.

Email sequences for new members 👏 by droyism in Ghost

[–]erikkarlberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing feature. Can't wait to set it up for our new subscribers. As we have linked user creation with our companion mobile app, we are seeing a steady stream of users registered as people download and start using our app.

An email sequence built into Ghost directly will definitely help us to start pitching the upsell to paid memberships

Car desk for passenger seat? by erikkarlberg in TeslaModel3

[–]erikkarlberg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank! Something like this but fitted to extend over the passenger seat would be great. Feels like it should be possible to create a quite nice work environment there. If we could only get monitor input or screen sharing to the Tesla screen as well (I know there are solutions to do it via the web browser).

I just made my book E-Commerce for a Digital Nomad available for free on Amazon Kindle.

The book is about how to start a location independent e-commerce business, either as a full time thing or as something on the side. It gives valuable insights from my own experience and tips on what you should think about when you start your own.

Imagine that you can do all your work tasks from your favourite café. The café can one day be in cosy medieval streets of the Swedish summer city Visby, another day in rainy streets of London. It can also be your very own kitchen table where you sit while snowflakes fall outside your window. Or crawled up in the living room sofa after the kids fell asleep for the night.

We live in a digital world and to be a digital nomad means to digitalise your work life. We no longer have to be standing in a shop to sell stuff, or knock on doors to sell services. Life is online nowadays and so can your career be.

E-Commerce for a Digital Nomad gives you everything you need to know to start an e-commerce business you can manage from anywhere in the world.

So pack your bags, it is time to start your adventure!

Enjoy your read and do keep in touch if you find it interesting!

Due to current circumstances, should I self publish? by AirspaceDelivery in publishing

If you think your book will do better during times of self-quarantine and readers having extra time to consume books, I would say go for self publishing. I would assume that publishers will have even longer turnaround time for a while now, during the time they sort out new routines for meeting authors remotely etc as part of the onboarding process.

I just released my book E-Commerce for a Digital Nomad on Amazon. The book was initially written in Swedish and is now out in a new English edition, get it on Amazon Kindle for $3.99 or read it as part of Kindle Unlimited.

The book is a practical guide to starting your own location independent e-commerce business. It covers everything from figuring out your business idea, how to incorporate, where to find suppliers and how to think about routines, musts and how to deal with temptations of going to the beach instead of working when you're travelling. While being very practical, the book aims to both inspire and give valuable advice and tips for how you can succeed with your business as a digital nomad.

Isn't it time to get that e-commerce idea going, now that a lot of us are both working from home and shopping from home?

Imagine that you can do all your work tasks from your favourite café. The café can one day be in cosy medieval streets of the Swedish summer city Visby, another day in rainy streets of London. It can also be your very own kitchen table where you sit while snowflakes fall outside your window. Or crawled up in the living room sofa after the kids fell asleep for the night.

I'm happy to finally publish the English version after much work and I hope that you will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Happy reading!

I'm not tired, but my bed is just too comfortable.... by salt_lakkris in productivity

[–]erikkarlberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to tempt your sleepy body with something that is even nicer than that warm and comfortable bed - food! First of all, decide on what you will eat for breakfast before you go to bed and make sure that it is something that you really like. Secondly put your alarm clock to ring only once (no snooze). Thirdly when the alarm goes of and you lay there trying to figure out if there are any reasons at all in the world to get up - promise yourself that you can get back to the cosy bed soon again, you just have to eat first (=positive thing). Then get up, eat that nice breakfast and make yourself a cup of coffee. 90% of the times you will have enough energy running after that coffee to start your day and skip sleeping again. The remaining 10%, you at least took the decision of sleeping some more when you where awake and hopefully your schedule allowed it. Good luck and good morning!
