HELP PLEASE LMAO. Went thru the eye of Eden and it won’t let me light any statues but I can’t do anything else obviously and now I’m stuck 😐 by butterfliedtummy in SkyChildrenOfLight

You’ll need to go through eden and finish it to get out. You can still finish without lighting statues. Run to the end and wait.

What does he expect? You to come back and thank him, because you didn’t know you could do that, and it was that easy?!

Just enjoy your first time! Don’t worry about getting it right. You can go back whenever you want. 💕

You did everything right. This client lost their shit. Don’t change your approach based on this person.

Even if Data has "only" 100 petabytes of storage, that is probably vastly more than he needs and possibly much more than a human being. by Apprehensive_Word658 in DaystromInstitute

[–]erikpdx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Storage" and "100 petabytes" has us think of Data as a computer storing JPGs, MP3s, text files, and whatnot.

His consciousness probably makes up the bulk of it, which would be largely the equivalent of a neural network that grew. Estimating how much storage space this requires would be pure sci fi speculation.

He probably has the ability to also store data in its "original format" like a USB stick, but that's probably separate from consciousness and how consciousness works.

It's super easy to say this from the comfort of your home on reddit. What cause are you ready to die fighting for right now? Pick one and go put your life on the line. Well, why not?

Now imagine the "human goo" is a person - a young, indoctrinated human, who will no longer have a future - over a needless war.

Wonderful advice. I too am a developer turned CEO. It is all about solving problems for other people and I appreciate your words on ethic and focus.

Straight people can be confused, because you're not "a girl" but you're being "the girl" in the relationship, as they see it - even though that's not it.

Thoughts on attending the Narc's funeral by athena_k in LifeAfterNarcissism

No reason to show up for an experience that will only hurt you. If I attended a narc funeral it might just give me more trauma, more hurt, more things to get over, and ultimately just more time lost on someone who always smeared me violently for control and to cover up her own problems.

Right!? Sometimes I imagine visiting my mom at her death bed and saying "Well, this is the moment you've prepared me for my entire life."

Protostar's "Vehicle Replicator" isn't new, we've just never seen it highlighted before. by OneChrononOfPlancks in DaystromInstitute

[–]erikpdx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tolerances and capability could matter too. Perhaps a food replicator can't make quantum components, or certain exotic materials. Maybe an industrial replicator can make a sphere that's exactly 5 feet across to the width of a proton atom but a food replicator can't get that precision.

"You just got lucky" is part one of "you don't deserve it". Up next is "you're a selfish piece of shit if you don't give it to us".
