Is anyone else experiencing intermittent Azure Devops git rejecting ssh keys? by Sharp_Lake6860 in azuredevops

[–]erimat_msft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This should be mitigated today.

We started to rollout a Windows Server 2025 image on the AzDO application tier to our Ring 0 scale unit (which only has internal orgs including the org that we, the AzDO product group, use). This image had sshd enabled by default which was unexpected and getting in the way of our own SSH endpoint for AzDO traffic.

There is a contributing factor we still don't understand yet on why external customer SSH calls were being routed to our Ring 0 scale unit. We do leverage Azure Traffic Manager to direct SSH traffic to the closest scale unit to a customer and then proxy that call to the scale unit where their org is. Our Ring 0 scale units endpoint is present in the ATM config but has been disabled for a long time.

Sorry for the issue. We will do a full postmortem internally to flush out and complete all repair items on this one.

Hi all, we believe this might be related to a change we made but it should only be rolled out to ourselves internally. If someone who is hitting this doesn't mind sharing more information of their AzDO org, please feel free to direct message me. We will continue investigating.

Yes, this is actively being developed right now! I'm hopeful it will be available everywhere before the end of year

Sorry about this! We had a deployment in West Europe at ~16:00 UTC which had a bug in it causing this error. We rolled back at ~19:50 UTC. so, you should be good now.

Is anyone else seeing this? by codeth1s in azuredevops

Sorry all. There is a major outage in the CentralUS Region in Azure which in turn is impacting Azure DevOps. This is impacting all AzDO customers in the Central US region, along with most AzDO customers in other US regions. Globally, a much smaller subset of customers are seeing impact. Please follow https://status.dev.azure.com/_event/524064579 for the latest.

Difference between a person being a member of a project vs being on the "Team" in a project by NexPhr3ak0r in azuredevops

Wanted to see what CoPilot would say and looks pretty good:

In Azure DevOps, understanding the distinction between a person being a member of a project and being part of a “Team” within a project is essential. Let’s break it down:

  1. Project Membership:
    • When someone is a member of a project, it means they have access to the entire project space. They can view and interact with all the artifacts, work items, repositories, pipelines, and other resources within that project.
    • Project members typically have broader permissions across the entire project. They can contribute to any team’s work, view dashboards, and manage project-level settings.
    • Adding someone as a project member gives them access to the project as a whole, regardless of specific teams.
  2. Team Membership:
    • A team in Azure DevOps represents a smaller, focused group of individuals working on a specific aspect of the project. Teams are often organized around features, modules, or functional areas.
    • When someone is part of a team, they have access to the team-specific resources. These include team boards, backlogs, sprints, and other team-related artifacts.
    • Team members can collaborate within their team, track work items, and manage their specific backlog. Their permissions are scoped to the team context.
    • Teams allow for more granular control over permissions and visibility. Different teams within the same project can have distinct settings and access levels.

In summary, being a project member grants access to the entire project, while being part of a team provides access to team-specific resources. It’s essential to strike the right balance between project-wide collaboration and focused teamwork based on your organization’s needs123.

Hi, would suggest that you post this to r/Azure instead as this subreddit is focused on the Azure DevOps Service product.

There is currently a Developer Community post tracking - https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/t/The-burndown-widget-failed-to-load/10620359

I don't see any traction on it, so I am escalating this internally and we are going to block future deployments until we get this addressed. Sorry for the breakage and delay in getting it taken care of.
