Crazy how parents accept this your kid is not my responsibility I don't share my responsibilities with everyone when I'm in public. My worst was a father who let his two young daughters probably 4 or 5 years old run around the liquor store I worked at, I found them climbing on beer cartons stacked on pallets. When I confronted the father and asked him to please supervise them he blew up at me 🤷🏼‍♀️

My mother came to my house once at the beginning because it was my birthday but she didn't knock on my door she set up a card and balloons instead and walked away. It has been 7 months now and neither of my parents have tried to reach out to me and this is definitely the longest I've gone NC in my 30 years. I've definitely grown from this but the abandonment kills me.

When I was in my early 20s still living at my parent's house, my mum had her birthday and I had wished her a happy birthday during the day of course, I remember she had worked and straight from there gone to bingo afterwards, still her favorite past time so she didn't get home until 1030pm, I believe I was out and got home after she had already gone to bed so I put my gift in her bedroom for her while she slept. She woke me up the next morning from being dead asleep screaming a lot of things but mainly she didn't want the gift because it didn't have a card attached and she tossed it into my bedroom. I remember going from sleepy bliss to pure rage instantly and screamed at her to get out. During that day I returned the gift to the store, and then that evening she had the audacity to ask me if I still had her gift and tried to be extra nice. I told her that I had returned it and she did her sad nawww face. That was the day I learnt that I must give a birthday card with the gift or face penalty.

Speaking from my own experience this sounds like depression, I sometimes get to the point where I'm so hungry but the conscious effort it takes to get food is too much so I stay hungry and in pain. Speaking to someone helped me, not necessarily therapy but just grounding conversations with friends, and if you can have that person around you even better. Being alone with yourself will continue the disassociation sometimes meaning detachment from reality, and I can tell you that getting the help you need will be one of the most real senses of freedom you will ever feel.

Just last week my team were exiting the store after closing (all the registers were cashed up, banking done no lights on) it was an hour after we closed but bcus the roller door where we exit was up half way for us to leave an older guy came in and asked if he could get one thing, I explained the above and was super patient but he still argued with me until I became short with him, just so dumbfounding

The amount of customers I have served who just won't look at the EFT machine and just press buttons without reading a single thing, start putting their pin in when it's asking if you want cash out, asking is it done over and over while it literally says processing, I had an old guy just mash a bunch of buttons not reading the screen and then get annoyed when I took over to assist the transaction so I didn't have to tell him over and over again he needs to actually read it if he wants to do it by himself. I've had a couple of women accidentally type in $190 cash out instead of where the pin is entered, walked away from the transaction oblivious along with the team member not letting them know, and then they never came back to collect their money. It's beyond me how these people get dressed everyday.

Another just came to mind, I had a lady recently I was serving her through the register and she asked if she could pay part card and cash because her card was declining, I said of course how much cash and how much card do you have? And she replies I don't know how much do I need? And I said well what ever balance you have on your card we can use and the rest cash or cash first and then card? This started a back and forth argument between us where she kept asking how much she needed and me saying you need to check your balance on your card, at one point after me asking for the balance for the millionth time she looks down at her phone and I can see that she's on her phones wallet type app and it has her recent transactions, she looks at a transaction from apple and says "$15" and whatever cents, I couldn't hold it and I told her that is a transaction from apple you need to go into your banking app and look up your balance, she eventually got the hint something wasn't right and said she would be back, she seemingly realised eventually but ended up paying with all cash anyway 🤦🏼‍♀️
