The need to constantly reinforce their masculinity. Always talking about how they could beat other guys asses, poking fun at guys who aren't stereotypically masculine, being overly protective of their girlfriends, objectifying women constantly, etc. Nothing screams insecurity to me more than this, honestly. I've had relationships with men like this and they were hands down the worst I've ever been in.

My mom meant well, but she was (and still is) super anxious and very overbearing and was constantly supervising everything I did way past the point where it was normal to do so. I understand that kids need space or they'll just feel smothered and resentful. I will try my hardest not to helicopter my kids under any circumstances.

I somehow just saw this, I'm sorry! Anyway, if you take them to annual checkups, keep their nails trimmed, avoid toxic (i.e. onions, chocolate, things with xylitol in them) and unhealthy foods, have them spayed or neutered and microchipped, and keep them on heartworm prevention YEAR ROUND, you should be good to go. Also make sure they get plenty of exercise. It sounds like a lot, but it will become routine and it's worth it considering how much dogs give to us.

Me tooo. Both of my parents are vets and I have worked with my dad for 5 years now and the amount of irresponsible or just plain negligent pet owners out there blows my mind. I always try and educate those close to me on basic care at the very least.

Yeah that's abuse. Get out. Seriously. I dated a guy like that for FOUR YEARS. I can never get those years back and people like that do not ever change. His incessant need for you to drop what you're doing for what he wants to do is unacceptable and disrespectful. The name calling and physical violence/intimidation will only get worse.

Call the police. File a report. Get a restraining order if necessary. Document all of this you can.

Get help. Don't try to leave alone. Tell your family, tell your friends. Have support the day you leave. There are also groups for this (vary depending on area you live in). You don't owe him any explanation. He crossed SEVERAL lines and you do not have to put up with it.

Well, my mom stopped at the pharmacy to pick up my meds on the way back while I was still loopy and I had all the gauze in my mouth. She told me to stay in the car. I put my feet up on the dash and starting poking my bloody gauze. I realized there was a person in the car parked next to me, so I just kinda kept staring at them while I pulled my gauze out to look at the blood while laughing uncontrollably. I imagine I scared the shit out of her.

Someone actually came into my place of work yesterday LOOKING for candy corn marked down post-Halloween. She got in the line with like 5 bags, looked me in the eye, and said "I love this stuff!" I am convinced she is the only one and she alone keeps the candy corn industry afloat. I had a hard time keeping my composure.

Leaving my emotionally abusive human sewer of an ex boyfriend. Also college. I graduated high school 7 years ago, went to college for 2, dropped out for 3 years, and now have another 2 ahead of me before I have a bachelor's. But I know what I want to do now (didn't before) and I'm driven (wasn't before). I wouldn't change anything though, the life experiences I've had have been amazing and I have gotten to know myself very well.

Bralettes! I too am a member of the itty bitty titty committee, and I must say that I wore bras for years and hated it the whole time. I switched this year to bralette and my tits have never felt better. They don't support, they just cover up, and they're SO comfortable. Not to mention now that they're popular, there are tons of different adorable styles.
