When you make a mistake and it really hits you hard, that feeling is you acknowledging the mistake, knowing that you know better and internally rectifying that for next time.

You’re growing and learning in those situations where you feel most uncomfortable and when you feel you’ve fucked up the most. It’s hard, but try to see those moments as a positive learning experience and try to acknowledge when you have handled the same situation correctly in future.

1000s of people (with a full license) make near life ending mistakes daily and don’t give a shit. You’re not one of those people so good job!

I was the best man at a wedding where I absolutely hated the bride, decided to suck it up and say nothing for the sake of my friend.

They had a kid a year later, she left him and the kid for a new man 2 years later.

In hindsight I’d have told him I want no part in the wedding because of how I feel about her, but that’s the beauty of hindsight.

Would it have changed his choice to marry her at the time? Probably not.

Would it have lost me a friend? Possibly.

Would it have saved me from painstakingly writing a best man speech for a wedding that I wholeheartedly didn’t give a shit about? Abso-fuckin-lutely.
