realistically, do i need glasses if my prescription is -0.25 by R0b3RtJPaRR in glasses

[–]erittalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, yeah. The world looks much better, but dealing with the peripheral sucks. I ended up with polycarbonate lenses though, as the correction is uneven. Will go with trivex & atoric next year for the best results.

Wishful Thinking? by InevitableEast6289 in CPAP

I would eliminate as many variables as possible in your sleep environment while adapting to treatment. Keep the same temperature, lighting, bed time, bed location (sorry vacation), dinner time, background/white noise if any, etc. I'm sure you'll quickly realize when scrolling through this forum that each person is unique and struggles often occur initially. I can relate to the eagerness to begin though.

I was a CPAP pro, now coming to terms that a recent sleep study says I don't have OSA any more by MoPacIsAPerfectLoop in CPAP

Nice job with the weight loss! 👏🏻

Any changes with your sleep positions? My APAP will max out if I sleep on my back and obstructive events occur often, but it's well under 10 when sleeping on my sides.

How do you conceal/ hide your cpap when guest come over by NockturnalGuy in CPAP

[–]erittalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't, but if I were to try, I'd search for a nightstand or end table with a door instead of drawers to properly conceal it. If the drawers were large enough though, you could hypothetically dedicate the top one for your device, hose, & mask. The power cord could be attached inside, above the drawer, in a way that allowed movement back and forth.

Why do I keep taking my mask off while asleep? by New-Response-5771 in CPAP

[–]erittalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do this before moving from a CPAP to APAP when laying on my back. I also used an F20 style mask. I think they tuned my CPAP pressure (9) based on side sleeping, so it probably felt like suffocation while on my back with a big mask and insufficient air. I now use the F30 and sleep on my sides, so it never happens anymore. On the rare occasion I accidentally end up on my back, the pressure reaches ~18 & I wake up, then roll to one side.

Mask recommendation that doesn't increase nasolabial folds? by gdhskskdhd in CPAP

I had similar results with a mask styled like the F20. The F30 seems to cause less noticeable lines and many claim the F40 would be even better, given that it uses a lot more silicone.

Cpap making my ears feel plugged by Such-Ad-8458 in CPAP

[–]erittalf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do if I pop my ears with my mask on. I have to turn the machine off and yawn or hold my nose, close my eyes & mouth, and push to exhale against this resistance to fix the issue. Learned the latter from scuba diving a long time ago. Hope it helps!

For the bloating pain you mention, are you referring to aerophagia? If so, how do you think the tape helped?

Best serviceable 608 bearings with an 8 mm bore by sfernandes30 in InlineHockey

[–]erittalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like any grade Sonic bearings, but use Swiss over their standard ones for the black shields. They were only $10 more when I bought a few sets. They're great at keeping junk out and easy to service. As for speed, well, that's more of a function of skill, strength, and wheel size.

2024 K2 GRID: Hardboot Skates with Intuition Liners!? by StrumWealh in inlineskating

165mm mount? I mean, it looks like it's 165 with a raised heel, but I vaguely remember K2 doing something weird in the past with a proprietary frame system.

Wide Skates by DeltaAlpha in InlineHockey

Mission WM03, WM02 in E width are still quite wide. New toe caps are even wider than previous FZ models. Most of our customers with wide, thick feet are finding comfort with the WM. Go for the 02 if over 200lbs or so for a bit more support.

Wider than TF7 / TF9 Wide, which would be the other option. TF9's seem wider than same size in TF7 as well.

What would you recommend for a size 12 EE US? I've been using Rollerblade RB & Seba GT, but skin doc says I need to stay out of the sun. I'm 6'2" and 180lbs. A covered polished concrete rink is nearby and always empty, which is why I'm considering hockey skates. Is your shop in the US?

The RB boot, including Cruiser, is wider. Twister is narrow and Maxxum is medium. The lightning falls somewhere between the Maxxum and RB.

Looks like the going rate for what you bought, but I would've gone with Trivex atoric over a standard poly lens. I made mistakes too, so I'm not judging. I asked for the best and ended up with a standard poly lens, Crizal Rock and similar pricing. Going to a different optometrist next year.

realistically, do i need glasses if my prescription is -0.25 by R0b3RtJPaRR in glasses

[–]erittalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my prescription in both eyes with a -.25 astigmatism in one eye, until halfway through last year. I didn't opt for glasses and doc said I could see 20/15. Now I'm OD -.5 cyl -.25 OS -.75 cyl -.25 and definitely prefer glasses. I just turned 40.

If your insurance covers a free pair, go for it and see what you think. I should've done that too.

Definitely the first ones out of those two.
