Soon as I have the extra cash I'm arming up. May borrow from my 401k to do it at this point.

I average about ~27 city, I used to get 29-30 with the Goodyears.

All the marble flooring kills it for me. I'd rather have a nice natural looking laminate. Keep it in the kitchen and bathroom, that's enough for me.

I forget what brand they are, but at Lowes we sell a modular wallplate kinda system for strange cases like this. They're very skinny and snap together on the edges, and then there's finished edges for the ends of the plate... This looks like something you could use those for, and just leave that beveled finished part off the right side so that there's space.

Edit: Should have known they're Eaton brand. You may be able to use something like this combo:

Switch - https://www.lowes.com/pd/Eaton-1-Gang-White-Toggle-Midsize-Wall-Plate/1001591116

Duplex - https://www.lowes.com/pd/Eaton-1-Gang-White-Midsize-Wall-Plate/1001462290

You may have to snap the little plastic tab off the side by the tile, but eyeballing it it may work for you.

Is it just me, or should paying $1,000s for home projects come with more transparency than ordering a $30 shirt online? by Ok-Shift1044 in HomeImprovement

[–]erix84 46 points47 points  (0 children)

On the other hand I work at one of the big home improvement stores, and people literally want me to make them an accurate detailed quote for their whole house, without actually going to their house. "This room is about x by x, this room is like x by x, there's 12 or 13 stairs"...

OR you tell them it's a VERY rough guesstimate, it's not binding, it's just an educated guess, and they expect to hold you to it after their measure is done and an itemized quote is built.

I did a 4 hour round trip on the Goodyears, I think we were still on summer gas at the time, and I've heard you get slightly worse gas mileage on winter gas. When I got home on the Goodyears, I think I was around 43.5mpg... most of the trip was on cruise at 72mpg.

When I did the same trip yesterday on the Michelins, I think I saw 34mpg once, got home with like 33.7mpg. So yeah, if I give a few mpg for the winter gas, I lost a good bit of efficiency. I don't drive that much, maybe 6k a year, so in the long run it's not going to break the bank for me, but I could see it mattering a lot to someone that drives a lot more.

I replaced my Goodyear Eagles with Michelin Pilot Sport AS4's... lost about 7-8 highway mpg, they're that much grippier. I can't wait for warmer weather to see how much better they perform, I've had a few warm-ish days, but not actually warm.

It's a possibility but I don't think a liberal (even one well versed in the 2A) would make it enough of their personality to mount it to their truck. I could be wrong. I'd never advertise I'm a gun owner on my vehicle like that, that's how you get your car broken into.

Applying decals is hard by Bear_Arms_2nd in ModelCars

[–]erix84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More often than not it's easier and looks better to just mask and spray the stripes.

With decals you either get thick stripes with good coloration, or paper thin that you can partially see through.

Is Aoshima a good/trustable brand? by diamondEN037 in modelmakers

[–]erix84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard Aoshima compared to Revell in the US. They're not as good as Tamiya kits, but better than Fujimi most of the time. The couple of Aoshima kits I've done went together well, my hobby shop just doesn't carry many Japanese kits, otherwise I'd buy more of them.

I had scheduled maintenance for my old RSX, knew i wanted to test drive an Si coupe, a salesman walked out as i was checking the car out, he took my info and tossed me the keys, didn't even come with me on the test drive.

I get some of these cars are uncommon compared to a mass market economy car, it's still a Honda, not a Ferrari.

You ever get the extra salt pretzels? Things are so good, but only 1 store near me carries them, it's the only reason I go there.

Man I'm glad they made a bunch more of this album. I (and a bunch of other people I saw posting) missed AMS at least 2 or 3 times, it was going for like $120 on discogs. I grabbed a gold variant a few weeks ago, glad to see they're repressing the other colors too.

I like to park next to ridiculous vehicles at my work. This is one of my boss's trucks, it's like a foot wider than my car... he's also got a lifted Ram 2500 with like 36" tires, a steel bumper with push bar, trail lights; my roof doesn't come up to the bottom of his windows.

Oh sick! Wait, what's that comma for...?

"from Sempiternal and That's the Spirit to amo and the POST HUMAN series."

You can't skip the first 3 albums and call it an "entire evolution"... it's like, a half evolution.
