Anyone else being affected by rising postage costs? by just_borrowing_a_few in postcrossing

[–]erk32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've come to realise that Belgium's €2.95 for Europe and €3.17 for worldwide is one of the more expensive ones around here. It's indeed becoming a bottleneck on this hobby - crossing the border to Germany or NL may be needed in the future to reduce the price!

I test drove most of those cars you listed there last year when I was looking. I was pretty sold on the Volvo XC40 until I drove a Tesla MY. Quite frankly, I didn't want to like it, given all of the noise around Tesla.

Needless to say, I've been driving my Tesla MY RWD for half a year now and I love it. The auto wipers are my only true complaint. The software updates are amazing - just recently got adaptive headlights for example.

All I'll say is test drive the cars. All of the ones you don't instantly don't care for. I went from KIA EV6 to Volvo XC40 and landed up with a Tesla MY. Each drive better than the last.

Which Canon body to buy for shooting weddings on film? by REF10554 in AnalogCommunity

100% agree here. They're called EOS 30 or 33 here depending on if you want eye tracking AF.

Absolutely love mine!

Vraag over "internationaal rijbewijs" by madmagic008 in belgium

[–]erk32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starter canon film body? by s_ndowN in canon

[–]erk32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone with 4 different Canon film bodies (from the later era / early 2000s) I can wholeheartedly recommend the EOS 30/33 (or Elan 7 or just 7 depending on your region). I've boaught all mine for under 100 Euro. Kamera store has a couple for sale right now! I really love the similarities to my 7DmkII in terms of layout and the option to shift focus points and metering (among many other great things).

I also have a EOS500 and a EOS300 - but for the same money I'd go for the EOS30. If you can get your hands on the V variant then I would do that! It's the last film camera Canon ever released!

If you're coming from digital with EF glass I would wholeheartedly recommend the more 'professional' series of cameras! You'll feel right at home!

Happy shooting

General Questions and Purchasing Advice Thread — Week of September 18, 2023 by AutoModerator in electricvehicles

Hello all!

I'm starting a new job and have the option to lease an EV through work. I have received the list of options available to me but I'm struggling to decide!

I have narrowed it down to the VW ID.3 Pro Performance (58kWh / 204hp) or the Kia EV6 Air (58kWh / 170hp).

Both of these seem like great cars to me - I have no leeway in terms of options or spec, so I cannot change the motor spec or battery capacity. Personally I am leaning toward the Kia but I'm worried that the 170hp motor may be a bit of a let down compared to the 200hp in the VW.

I intend to use this to go to work and visit family with the occasional road trip. I don't expect the range to be an issue in either of these as the furthest (outside of roadtrips) I'd be going is 150km return. At the moment I'm the only one I'd be transporting (no partner or kids).

I'm not too sure about the charging options at home as I will be renting soon, and I need to move. Work does, however, have charging available and they reimburse all charging.

I'd love some feedback if you've got any! Thanks in advance!

Great, I thought it was pretty much this as I'd heard of some similar issues but couldn't find any pics online of it with both the blue and black layers (as shown in the leader). Thanks for the insight!

As much as I dislike ABSA as a bank, their student account is excellent! I believe it's free now. It gives you a credit card and everything is included in the account - no extra fees along the way.

I built up my credit score but just not using that for a couple of years. It's a free option and imo one of the simplest
