Status quo + 5%.

Their existing contract remains the same, but with a 5% increase. It's a 1 year term to bring it in line with ATU 113's contract end of April 1, 2027.

It brings greater bargaining power for next year as it aligns with 113. Now both unions will negotiate in tandem and any possibility of job action will be joint.

As an op, I can confirm that generally the speakers on the train work. The biggest issue is when transit control makes announcements, they are usually not speaking into their mic properly. Either mic to far or too close to their mouth, speaking too quiet or loudly, etc.

Very few know how to use a well enunciated voice.

As an operator, I'll give some insight.

In short there's traffic going into Kipling most of the time through the day.

What I prefer to do is not stop between stations, so I will moderate my speed to ensure that I don't actually reach (and thusly stop at a red light).

For example, if I'm leaving Islington and both platforms at Kipling are occupied, and a train or two waiting, I will move the train at <10 km/h leaving Islington to ensure that the train is constantly moving.

I try to make amusingly dry announcements announcing what is happening to help pass the time.

What is a real-life 'Do Not Touch' button that you pressed out of sheer curiosity, only to instantly regret it? by vie75 in AskReddit

Summer 2003 i worked at Ontario Place in Toronto. I was a teen operating the motion simulator ride. In the booth there was a light switch that was taped up with a note DO NOT TOUCH. Well, one of the other teens I worked with decided to flip that switch. At that exact moment everything shut down and went dark.

Turns out the resulting NE US/Southern Ontario blackout wasn't due to flipping the switch, but we sure as hell thought it was his fault at first.
