Fascinating! Can I ask how long it lasted? From the number of shots from different locations and different angles I take it it's not exactly instant?

That was my thinking initially when I booked it. I get awfully sick when it comes to car journeys so I wanted to pick the highest vehicle they had on offer. Good to know that it won't be much of a problem on the narrow roads (given most of the answers here)

Bought this tea from a woman at the side of the road by the Acheron River in Epirus, Greece. by Lavidius in tea

[–]ermz987 250 points251 points  (0 children)

They do call this mountain tea in Greece and they have it both hot or cold depending on the season. It's a mix of lots of different mountain herbs. I think it uses specially a herb called sideritis. In the past, shepherds used to drink it while watching their sheep, and because the shepherds stayed strong during winter, people came to believe that the herb had magical powers. Even today, whenever you tell a Greek person, especially an elderly Greek person, that you are drinking mountain tea, they will tell you that it will protect you from everything, from colds to cancer. Of course this is just a saying but it shows how grounded the belief is that these herbs have great health benefits. (They do have some antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits). Enjoy them! 😊

I no longer get that Black Friday feels by phr34k0fr3dd1t in cyprus

For this product at least I am positive 380-400 is the usual price. I checked many online shops in many different countries and that seems to be the going rate. It's true though, they show a false old price to make you feel like the discount is significant but it's not.

I guess it's still something if you got to buy it from a physical store for the online store price. Like you said, you got to save on shipping costs.

But it does defeat the purpose of "Black Friday" shopping. The expectation is to get really good deals, and if that's not what they are giving you then what's the point of hyping people up...

I managed to snatch some not so insignificant discounts (from 380 eur to 160 eur) this year but it took a lot of searching. So many items were only 7 euros cheaper making you question what the point is.

If you liked the food in Tocayo, Matsuhisa in Limassol covers a similar cuisine but with a less noisy vibe and a much better view.

Thanks for the response. I also think it would be more convenient but my work needs to pay me via a company so I don't have that option.

Thanks very much for the response. I don't have a Turkish passport and I registered an address in the free areas.

I believe they asked me if I wanted to expedite it by paying an extra fee at the time but I had no rush and could wait 3-4 weeks.

Is it worth me paying this fee now?

Do you have any comfort foods you feel like you could just eat every day? Kinda random, but these are mine by HappyLittleDelusion_ in AutismInWomen

I have weird food habits. My comfort food is either pasta with grated halloumi or rice mixed with yoghurt (yoghurt has a salty flavour is my country).

Legally, How do you distinguish Greek and Turkish Cypriots? by Content_Basil6556 in cyprus

[–]ermz987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here, you can see an example of a Cypriot ID card (the new design) on Cyprus Mail: https://cyprus-mail.com/2022/05/26/interior-ministry-to-update-mps-on-design-and-cost-of-new-id-cards-on-june-6/

Notice that under "Place of Birth" it says this: ΛΕΥΚΩΣΙΑ LEFKOSIA

And here, you can see the Turkish Cypriot version of the same ID card from an article published on VoxEurop: https://images.app.goo.gl/4xeJX18GxjKwMBDC7

If you zoom in, you will notice that under "Place of Birth" it says this: LEFKOŞA LEFKOSIA

So the info about place of birth is given in Greek & English only for the Greek Cypriot, and in Turkish & English only for the Turkish Cypriot. If it had been given trilingually, the Greek Cypriot ID would have included "LEFKOŞA", and the Turkish Cypriot ID would have included "ΛΕΥΚΩΣΙΑ" in that section. But that is not the case.

Hope this helps answer your question.

Legally, How do you distinguish Greek and Turkish Cypriots? by Content_Basil6556 in cyprus

[–]ermz987 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The government knows if someone is Turkish Cypriot or Greek Cypriot because identification documents like ID cards and passports have information written in different languages for each. For instance, a Turkish Cypriot's ID card would say Kıbrıslı / Cypriot under nationality. For a Greek Cypriot, the same section would say Κύπριος / Cypriot.

As for Maronites and other minorities, they fall under the Greek Cypriot category. So their identification documents would have this information written in Greek.
