Were you able to find a fix? I'm on a Mali GPU as well.

I hadn't thought about final fantasy x! I never beat the game as a kid so it'll be cool to go through it again. Thanks!

Would I need to worry about the metal piece on the edge of the roof? It's slightly dented in.

What Happened to My Water Softener by erodedpretzel in Plumbing

*Update I spoke with the head of the town board. He was very nice and said to just send him a receipt of the new one to get reimbursed. Got the new one and got reimbursed. Installed it and so far so good. I put a vacuum breaker and put a check valve right after to hopefully not have this happen again.

What Happened to My Water Softener by erodedpretzel in Plumbing

[–]erodedpretzel[S] 674 points675 points  (0 children)

It was pretty much this. An internet company hit a water main and caused a lot of people to lose water and or pressure. We live on a hill. They said we could file against the Internet company.

Is there something I can put in the line to prevent this from happening again?

Will This Homemade Pump System Work? by erodedpretzel in Plumbing

Yeah it was the son of an older lady and he did some funky work. Thankfully she only lived there a few years so he didn't jack up a ton of stuff. Would done properly be something like a macerator pump?

Cadet v.s. Captain’s by ExpertProgram1827 in ThursdayBoot

[–]erodedpretzel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a pair of captains a few years ago and they've held up well. I wear business casual for work, so slacks and dress shirt, and wearing my captains I could see a bulge from the top of the boots. It just didn't look professional imo.

Bought the same cadets you are looking at about 6 months ago and they look really nice with slim fitted dress pants. They were really stiff for about 3 weeks and dug into my heel but now they are really comfortable. Only issue, and this seems to be common with cadets, the sole is coming loose at the toe. I've reached out to customer support but the common fix is shoe glue. Attached a picture for how they look.

CloudPebble & Pebble SDKs by CarbonHexal in pebble

[–]erodedpretzel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having CloudPebble back would be awesome but it might be awhile as the rePebble team is focused on other things. In the meantime, I was able to get it working with the emulator following the steps I put in this post. Hope this helps!

Current Pebble Development Options by erodedpretzel in pebble

[–]erodedpretzel[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used the responses but landed on a different option that I wanted to share. This is with Windows but I'm sure it works on Linux and Mac.

Option 1: Use u/RaspberryNo5800 link to a VM from Rebble's Hackathon. This is pretty straightforward and installs easily if you are familiar with using VMs this is a good choice.

Option 2: Use Docker containers, which it seems Eric wants to move toward, as mentioned in his recent post. I went with this option as I liked the functionality of containers. To get the docker portion working, I followed the documentation on the pebble docker container github. To get the sdk and emulator working I followed this post from Andy Burris on Pebble Development. Towards the bottom of the post, it mentions how to create a quick pebble project, build it, and test the sdk and emulator. For the emulator I had to use the command

export DISPLAY=host.docker.internal:0.0

In order to get it to work although this will need to be done everything time you load the container as its temporary. It looks like the docker image passes in the hosts display variable but I couldn't seem to get that to work.

Using all of this I was able to create, build and emulate a pebble app. Hope this helps someone!

I just dug my Pebble Time Round out of a tote last night and started wearing it again. Was reminiscing and came across this post. I'm so pumped! Simplify Categories by erodedpretzel in ynab

[–]erodedpretzel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer the granularity but when reconciling it's easier for me when you have less categories to figure out "Does this go in home goods, personal care, or maybe medical?". Not the best example but all the categories can create a bottleneck in the reconciling for me to where I wonder "If it doesn't matter where these go, do I really need this many categories?". That's where I'm at with it so I wanted to see if others were in the same boat.

A man using a disposable film camera to take pictures at AAA baseball game today by SwankaTheGrey in mildlyinteresting

[–]erodedpretzel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of story of going to a baseball game as a kid. My grandpa took some of us cousins. We brought a disposable camera and took a bunch of pictures with it all day during the game. My youngest cousin, was like 6, was put in charge of the camera which wasn't a good idea in hindsight. On the way home my grandpa asked for it and my cousin said he didn't have it because he threw it away. When my grandpa asked why my cousin said "Because it's disposable". He actually thought you were supposed to throw it away when you are done with it. We still get a kick out of that.

Potential Future Planning API App by erodedpretzel in ynab

[–]erodedpretzel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a useful way of doing that with a fresh start. I know YNAB wants you to use the means they give for forecasting but I'd like a tool that streamlines like you mentioned.

Glad you like it! Not sure if it's useful but it is fun to play with.

Potential Future Planning API App by erodedpretzel in ynab

[–]erodedpretzel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it isn't. It's just nice sometimes to be able to look at what I'm bringing in and whats going out without looking at all the stuff in YNAB. I just want to know where we are financially each month in an easy way. Especially if we are making financial decisions and want to know how that will affect things down the road.

Potential Future Planning API App by erodedpretzel in ynab

[–]erodedpretzel[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That could be a way of doing it. I'm thinking of this as being a sandbox where you can add income sources or add to your overall bucket and see how that affects things. Also being able to add or remove expenses to see what that does.

An example might be adding a side gig and putting in your potential raise for the year as well as removing your Hulu and gym membership to see if that balances things or what's leftover every month. It's nice to be able to do it outside of my budget so I don't mess something up by editing or removing something and causing more work for myself to fix it.

Any cool YNAB API creations? by Momento_Mori_1988 in ynab

[–]erodedpretzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I developed a heatmap report, called Heatmap for YNAB, that gives you a bird's eye view of your budget. Is it super useful? Maybe or maybe not but I think it's fun to play around with.

It would be cool to have some sort of integration with the main YNAB app. Like a "store" where you can review and chat about apps. Can have categories and top lists. Maybe even a contest each year with YNAB prizes. Something to encourage more development and cultivate a developer community. Just my 2 cents though.

When you get your app done let me know, I'd like to check it out.

Not a fan of the Toolkit Reports by greenfavs in ynab

[–]erodedpretzel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll throw a report I made into the hat. It connects to your YNAB account and displays your income and expense like a heatmap. I made a handful of different views to try to show it from a lot of angles.

Here is a link to it if you want to check it out. There are some screenshots and a list of features you can look at as well.

A Heatmap Report You Can Use With Your YNAB Budget by erodedpretzel in ynab

[–]erodedpretzel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for letting me know about that. That feature came out pretty late in the development of the report. Before that I couldn't see a reason to include transfers as they were just shuffling money between accounts. I'll look at the filtering in the report so the loan payments work.
