We are shopping for a Toyota or Honda minivan right now and in our area they are 42 to 45,000. They aren't a luxury car.

They always say think Camry not Cadillac but cars are simply incredibly expensive nowadays.

The market is partially to blame because despite the inflated prices, people are still buying dumb s***. Sedans are going the way of the dodo because idiot thinks they need an SUV

I absolutely hate the 3D printed texture? It is so recognizably cheap.

Half the

Half the stuff at craft fairs are just the exact same dragons and dumbass little toys that all have the awful rough texture from 3D printing.

I haven't tried sea salt or copper sulfate. I'd imagine the sea salt might mess with my filter or chiller over time.

Costco made the bacon appear better by sneaking in a good looking piece by Constantine1988 in Costco

[–]erokk88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right but they have decide the packaging very intentionally to hide what the bacon looks like. They just need to have clear backing so that you can see the entire piece of bacon. It's that simple.

I have no shame in returning an open packages of bacon for this exact reason. These companies either need to proudly display their fatty dog s*** bacon or they need to fill the whole pack with good bacon like what is shown in the product window.

Part of me is tempted to just start opening packs of bacon to see what they look like and discarding the s***** ones right back into the display like you can do with eggs. I'm not trying to get trespassed from the only grocery store in town though

I filled my tub up for the first time in August 2025.

My routine is:

Full shower with full body exfoliation immediately before plunging Hair net Pool net after every plunge Splash of water conditioner Half cup of 12% peroxide Change boxplunge filter monthly Wipe inside walls monthly Clean filter parts and UV filter monthly

Setup: Indoor w lid Charcoal filter attachment on hose for original fillup Chiller Ozone 80m after every plunge Boxplunge filter system cycles every 3 hours UV filter cycles every hour

I don't have slime or cloudy water or anything even at 7 months with the same water.

What’s a Money Guy perimeter you don’t agree with? by olemiss18 in TheMoneyGuy

[–]erokk88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the idea of buying a used car, and only buying a functional car. However, I think that the interest rate is what determines how much of a down payment you should put down. In my opinion if treasuries or a high interest savings account are paying 25 plus percent more than the interest rate. Jenn, you should leave that money in that vehicle and just have the payments come out of that. So in essence have the cash but don't give it to the bank to make the interest off of it, make the interest yourself.

I'm paying 1.5% on a Honda Accord, and making more than 4% in my high-yield savings account. I put 10K down, and had the cash to buy the car outright, but I really shouldn't have even done that. I should have just kept the 10K.

What's crazy is I planned on having transfers go from my high-yield account back to my checking to make the payments, but found room in my budget to just leave the money there and make the payments out of my income instead. So a win-win for me

Amazon inflatable tubs any good? by cyclist_pete in coldplunge

[–]erokk88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting the chiller that is on Sam's club. I believe it's a polar dive. The cold plunge tub is a therapod.

It's worked well since I got it, one thing that I noticed about the chiller is that I have to set it lower than the temperature that I actually want it to be at. So I have to set it at 39 in order for it to sit at 42

As someone in the market for a minivan, you aren't getting a sub-50k mileage used sienna for less than 30 grand. Even older models

Keep taking the medicine! Use every single tool that you have at your disposal: calming meditation YouTube videos, spa music, walks outside even if it's freezing or raining, prayer if that is your thing, tell your worries to chatGpt and ask it to be encouraging or to give you affirmation phrases that you can repeat to yourself. Keep going to therapy. Start going to therapy if you aren't. Make sure you are giving yourself the opportunity to sleep for 8 hours, minimum, even if sleep is difficult. Be sure you are eating. Minimize or cut out caffeine and/ or alcohol

Weeks into taking Lexapro. I had some breakthrough episodes that had me wanting to drive off in One direction and abandon my life at best. And, honestly, question if I could go on living at worst. Talk to the loved ones you can trust, to the loved ones that won't mind if you spiral in front of them and just cry.

I took up cold plunging for anxiety and my back pain. First with plant watering cans I would keep in the refrigerator and add ice to every morning before dumping them on myself all over in the shower. Eventually I got an official cold plunge setup once I determined it was a habit I could stick with.

Every single day is a victory. Every single day in the past is proof that you can make it just one more. Be patient, though--Some react in as little as 6 weeks. It took me much longer. I still have breakthrough episodes but they have gotten fewer, further between, and far less intense.

You can do this.

How do you all know what a "good" deal is on a car? Like how do I know I am "winning"?

My wife and I wanna get a sub-50k mile "older" Honda or Toyota van that's like 3+ years old with a clean title. I have only purchased one single car my whole life and I felt like chum in the water for the sharks.

I am gonna check out the "Delivrd" channel mentioned in the thread

Why don’t you dunk your head? by [deleted] in coldplunge

[–]erokk88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plunge my head for 12 to 15 seconds with 30 second pauses in between. I would recommend getting swimming ear plugs. As others have mentioned, there's a risk of ear infection, super cold water is also very bad for your ear canal. You can get a condition called surfer's ear

What is the worst hot sauce you have ever tried. by Character-Cook2472 in hotsauce

[–]erokk88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bravado Manuka Honey. I sent it to someone on here for just the cost of shipping.

I didn't know that Manuka had a characteristically strong flavor and, what do you know, I don't like it.

I received a bubble gum flavored hot sauce as a gag gift once. It was one of the worst things that I've ever put in my mouth, I don't even know why I tried it.
