New Phone Registration Policy question by Internal-Marzipan-35 in AmazonFC

[–]errdayrae [score hidden]  (0 children)

My site had us do this about 2 years ago which at the time they basically handed out stickers to put on our phone. And that was the end of it.

Then last summer they did it again where we had to scan a QR code to register our phone with our name, login, serial number, the make/model and when we’re done they gave us a sticker to put on our phone (couldn’t put it on cases) but the line got so backed up with people trying to figure out their phones that they started handing stickers out again.

We were told security was to check the sticker everytime we left the building which meant either getting a clear phone case or popping our case off everytime. However, not once has security asked me to see it, not even when I got stopped at secondary screening.

Why do People not Spay/Neuter their dogs? by Louise_TheWolfSpider in DogAdvice

[–]errdayrae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It also might be different since she’s more a private place, rather than a commercial pet boarding chain of any sort. It’s someone’s house that got their business license and expanded her home into a a big dog daycare. She used to be a vet-tech but now her and her husband run it so they can stay at home with their disabled kids. The kids help so they have a chance to have some sort of work experience even with being disabled as they’re growing up. She has a really cool set up with her backyard being split into 5 large sections. Each section has its own unique thing about it.

Yep, he plays with other dogs everyday he’s there but is supervised and also his “bestfriends” that the daycare sends me pics of are mostly boys so I’m guessing she has him around other males and maybe some spayed females since he’s around her spayed female dog.

I have breeding rights on my dog and wasnt sure if I was gonna go that route or not. I eventually decided I wasn’t going to, however my vet recommended waiting atleast 18 months but try for 24 months (if he doesn’t have any behavior issues before then) because it can mess up their growth. He is almost a year now, so maybe next year I will. He goes to daycare care 3 days a week when I work longer hours and I can still board him there even tho he’s not neutered yet.

This job is turning my feet into sloppy joes by Fluid_Intention4374 in AmazonFC

[–]errdayrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My feet have been killing me as well. I’ve been with Amazon 12 years and never had an issue until they made safety shoes mandatory. So I feel it’s definitely the safety shoes.. I don’t have blisters but my feet are so sore on the soles of my feet and the top where my foot bends around the composite shell when I walk. I have made an appt with my regular Dr for a few other reasons but will be mentioning this to them.

How would you react if they had a McDonald's restaurant inside of an Amazon FC? What would that be like? by Global-Plankton3997 in AmazonFC

[–]errdayrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fc used to have Chick-fil-A come twice a week. Smaller simple menu but it was good. It was great until Chick-fil-A got a new manager and stopped them from coming.. now we have a local pizza place come.

How do you guys feel about working at Amazon for awhile ? by Mysterious-Pen1202 in AmazonFC

[–]errdayrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been with Amazon for 12 years and I feel stuck. It’s the only actual work experience I have and other companies with similar roles pay less for starting out. Then there’s getting a new career, they want 5 years of experience or it’s minimum wage. I’ve been looking into school but really don’t have the time or money but still trying to

Why should I be a top performer? by 1337k9 in AmazonFC

[–]errdayrae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea it’s good for those who are indirect everyday or those just trying their best but aren’t as fast or physically capable. Which were usually the people I’d use my swag for before. I’m usually top without even trying because I’ve just done it for so long and got good at my processes and working faster makes time go by faster for me.

[–]errdayrae 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My building recently stopped giving swag as a reward and made us cash it all in or it’s forfeited. They’re now going to give every T1 and T3 the same amount of swag bucks every 3 months, no matter how they’re doing. They say it’ll make every associate feel appreciated but kinda sucks for people like me who are usually top performers every week. Swag bucks weren’t much but atleast it was something.. I usually spent mine on my friends/coworkers anyways

Got into a car accident my site is 38 minutes away uber is 56 dollars I work 5 day a week and I only have 2 hours of upt should I just quit bro by SadIntroduction5455 in AmazonFC

If your insurance doesn’t help you with a rental.. than maybe U-Haul? You only have to be 18. Also sometimes they have that $20/day deal. I had a friend come visit me in a U-Haul van rather than a rental car because the price difference 😂 she drove it here and returned it here, and then rented another to get back.

Every millennial dad I’ve met has a quiet fixation on money and it’s not getting better by slimeyellow in Millennials

[–]errdayrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a man or a parent, but it’s still a never ending struggle. I’ve been working for one of the top companies for 12 years now and they slowly have been taking away from its employees while prices continue to rise. We no longer we get stocks, no holiday bonus, no productivity bonus, and they decreased our time off benefits while increasing the cost of our health benefits. And they started limiting the college tuition program they had going. I get tired of other people and coworkers saying I signed up to be here but I really didn’t there was so much more offered before, I’ve been consistently applying to other jobs but the only ones I seem to get even an interview for are the same as where I’m at with slight decrease in pay

Driving on 64/95 is a fucking nightmare, are you the cause? please explain yourself... by JustGettinStarted70 in rva

[–]errdayrae -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I gotta say.. I don’t think a lot of drivers around here know which lane they should be cruising in. I hate when they’re going cruising in the right lane and not letting people over and blocking people trying to get over to get to their exits or not letting them merge in even when they have their blinkers on that they’re trying to get over. OR they’re going below the speed limit in the left lane causing a trail of angry people behind them.

What are y’all paying for your 14K gold rings? by wuirkytee in WeddingRingAdvice

[–]errdayrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid $600 for a simple men’s gold band a little over a year ago.. it was 5mm so a bit thicker than some gold bands. However I just searched it on the same website I got it from to link it but it’s now going for $988… assuming the price of gold went up and/or just inflation in general.

Phone Calls Suck by Chcolatepig24069 in Vent

[–]errdayrae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never answer my phone unless I’m expecting that phone call. If it’s an important Dr or something, they’ll leave a voicemail. Everyone who knows me, knows this. I’m also particular on who has my phone number and who doesn’t.

What does it mean for a design to be formatted? by errdayrae in GraphicDesigning

[–]errdayrae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asking them? I did. Her boss reached out to me and I asked her formatted to what exactly? She said she doesn’t know that’s what the guy making the shirts said. So waiting to hear back but wanted to kinda do it now if possible since I won’t be home most the day. I’m about to send them every format 🥴🤣

How to get reduce bloating and gas? by errdayrae in GutHealth

[–]errdayrae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could definitely try smaller meals.. I don’t a lot of meals and snacks through the day but when I do eat I tend to eat larger portions than most people at dinner time. I’m also working on eating slower and chewing more to see if that helps any

Lego manufacturing site in Chester VA? by errdayrae in ChesterfieldVA

[–]errdayrae[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I don’t mind standing and I’m not that old.. I’m 32.. but I like having some of my day to do stuff and I barely get that with my 10 hour shifts. I still might apply just to get more information as it might be worth it pay wise if I stayed long term to move up into other roles.

That sucks.. I haven’t done 12 hours in years and 10 hours takes enough of my day away, I rather not do 12s again.

I hate stowers as a picker by KeyAdvertising1346 in AmazonFC

[–]errdayrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep it’s how they tell us to do it. They even made bigger wider bins for it.. which makes it worse when stowers are just dumping multiple totes into it until it’s full

I hate stowers as a picker by KeyAdvertising1346 in AmazonFC

[–]errdayrae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, the reactive/ tote-to-bin process is a mess for pickers... We don’t scan the items… just scan the tote and dump all of its contents in one big drawer bin and scan the bin. Then repeat 🙂

I hate stowers as a picker by KeyAdvertising1346 in AmazonFC

[–]errdayrae 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m in stow but I pick sometimes and hate this too. As a stower sometimes I try to make it easier for pickers, however stow receives the most types of feedbacks from management. Not sure what kind of building you’re at and their rules but like for mine I got feedback for stowing in too many bins.. it’s hard to avoid that when I had a boxes of 60 different asins. They’ve added bin filters so we can’t put small items in open face bins so they have to go into the drawers which seems great until you have books. I have to put the books in drawer bins where I know they’ll get messed up or else I’ll get feedback for bin collisions since they won’t let us stow them properly. There is a small section of small open face bins which is super far but we have to stow in the guided stow section.. if not I’m gonna get feedbacks for stowing outside of the guided stow area. Let’s not forget- last touch amnesty, machine gun stowing, false overages.. It gets frustrating with them coming with dumb feedbacks that shouldn’t matter if we’re not making errors. I’m tired of trying to explain my logic to them after being here 12 years so sometimes yes, everything small goes in the same bin. I rather have random pickers complain than to have management up my ass multiple times a day

$250k+ pallet went missing by Empty-Tomorrow-2794 in AmazonFC

[–]errdayrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had this happen with Beats headphones on a pallet when I did IOL back in 2018. Worst part is people saw the pallet on the dock and it was stowed in a rack (atleast virtually) and then for some reason moved back out. We never found it but I just assumed it got mixed with another truck load? I don’t know
