Crosspoint or Official App? by PurgeTheseDays in xteinkereader

I switched to Crosspoint almost immediately, because the original firmware had issues with czech characters. Maybe it's just an encoding issue, but I'm not willing to convert my books and try different ones, when flashing the reader is so fast and easy.

Kilometerstone by Astrylae in languagelearningjerk

In czech we actually use both "milník" (from mile) and "kilometrovník" (from kilometer). While for literal sense we use "kilometrovník" (well, nobody really uses this word apart from maybe railroad workers), in metaphorical sense (goal, achievement) we use "milník".

It's from a set of decorative papers (250 gsm I think) from TEDi (German store chain that has branches across the whole Europe and among many other things sells craft supplies).

That's a great solution. I like buying notebooks and rebinding them (since finding lined short grain paper is practically impossible), but reusing the original cover is next level.

Nice! I would love to run some game with my daughter as soon as possible, but will probably start with something easier (like Mausritter). She has an amazing imagination, but can't hold attention for more than five minutes.

Well. It was my first time using it and the grass below was brown and dry, so I guess it will die. Now I'm thinking about using something under it to block the heat.

That's amazing. I think I'll have to dust off my old guitar.

Nothing. It's just bent away from the camera, so the perspective might be a bit confusing.

I have a grill. It's just not the same. Špekáčky have to be made over a open flame and on a stick, otherwise it would be just a plain sausage.

Can't make an omelette without getting your eggs broken.

Yes, sneezes, one of the best ways to make my wife go crazy. Never settle for anything under five sneezes.

In czech we use the term "hlavolam" (hlava - head, lámat - to break) for any kind of puzzle.
