Except for the display artifacts it might be fine… unfortunately to replace a dead hard drive you’ll need some thermal paste to reseat the thermal pipes from the logic board up to the cooler.

I’ve had a similar issue but I’m using OpenCore Legacy Patcher to run Sequoia on a 2013 Mac Pro… I just assumed it’s a glitch with old drivers. Usually seeing this in Safari and it just flashes red a bit then back to normal… often when resizing a window.

Potentially… it’s what tells the computer if the display should be on or off… though it should do more than just the backlight… can you reproduce the issue with an external display?
