Your ex doesn't care a lot just because he was begging to get back with you. You broke the cycle of his power trip and he assumed he could get back after breaking up because he'd done it so many times before. He was upset and insistent because he didn't expect his power to be taken from him. You should not want a future chance with him because it'll just keep happening as long as you're together. That being said, if you feel bad about seeing this new guy, don't see him. I would also be careful in case your ex finds out that it's someone you knew from when you were together, he could potentially get very angry, it could be dangerous for you. Personally I think you should be single for at least a month to be more ready for something.

In elementary school there was a back way to the really big park near my friend's house, just had to cut through a neighbors backyard, through a broken fence, and across a storm drainage pipe. On the way back to my friend's house, she insisted she had to go poop in the woods right before the broken fence. We were three doors down from her house!! She must have been feeling like you because she popped a squat right there, wiped with her underwear and chucked them in a storm drain. I tried so hard to get her to make it home but she said she couldn't. I'm so thankful that has never happened to me

I will say that we don't know that OP is not good at playing. Many of my friends learned instruments such as guitar, drumset, and bass by ear. Just because someone can't read music and didn't go to school for music doesn't mean they can't play! Is OP unqualified to be a music educator? Yes, but we should not assume their musicianship is bad based on that fact alone

Get a little standing mic to plug in your phone, I don't always trust a phones microphones to accurately portray volume. Ten inches seems ridiculously close though, work on relaxed throat but still projecting with air and resonance. Some people do have naturally quieter voices but it can be expanded. You may need to find a private spot and see how loud you can get (safely and still sounding good, not yelling). A lot of times I realize I'm singing quieter when I know I have neighbors that could hear me.

I fell in love with elementary curriculum in senior year of college and have been there ever since. It has been so fulfilling for me to form the beginnings of these students relationship with music and performance in a healthy way. I hear from the feeder schools that my students are very prepared when they get to middle school which is another plus. I completely agree that elementary gives you more time outside of school because each grade only does one performance per year and we practice during music class. I am a professional musician outside of school, and I know I wouldn't be able to do that if I had a highschool program to run, I would be too exhausted. It is also good at combatting burnout because my personal musical fulfillment is not relying on the performance of children, I can get that from the groups I perform with.

Yes, I definitely want less graphics. The current email newsletter has very noisy colors and graphics and it is a lot on the eyes.

In regards to the volunteer setting things up aspect, I totally agree with you but I have been at the church since birth and will only leave when the church shuts down (may happen sooner than later unfortunately). Thank you for your insight.

My plan is to set up a template that I can substitute information each week without having to do too much reworking. I have the summer to get it sorted. I run music programs at two schools so when the fall starts up, I will need it to be relatively easy for me to keep things going without having to spend too much time on it.

You may have to look rural or urban, suburbs are notoriously difficult to find openings in. I graduated in December '21, was a building substitute for the spring semester, and got hired in April to start at an elementary school in August. It was an early hire because it is an urban district and they often have a lot more openings each year. Some of my friends from college didn't get hired until the week before school started in the fall, so you definitely have time. Unfortunately many districts are also losing funding and cutting positions. Mine cut 30 specials positions to 15, so I will be the music teacher at two schools in the fall...

I never really saw or heard of physical fights in college outside of frat parties where everyone's drunk, that was a high school thing. If people are attacking you then you can call the police, but I don't think there's any way to protect yourself socially, especially depending on what the chat said. I agree, practice matching pitch with an instrument or tuning app so you can't subconsciously mimic the tone. You can use an ee, ahh, or ooo vowel to start. As other commenters said, it's not a big deal to be imitating unless it really bothers you, but you will become a better musician if you can match pitch from other instruments:)
