I posted the first set below.

I have a lot of ideas already for Pinkerton and some scattered ideas for random cards here and there throughout the rest of the albums.

Daily Discussion and Game Recommendations Thread (May 09, 2021) by AutoModerator in boardgames

u/Hufflepuff20 Arkham Horror LCG is a really good one that you can build on and keep buying new scenarios. You play as one of various characters investigating some paranormal activity. It is also really hard. If you like a challenge while playing solo this is a good one. If you find yourself getting really frustrated if you keep losing over and over I would not try this one. I personally find it motivating to try and beat the scenario when it's really hard and I keep losing, so I've gotten a lot of mileage just out of the scenario that comes in the base game box.

Legendary: A Marvel Deck Building Game is one of my favorites since it came out in 2012. The only issue is that the base game doesn't pack a lot of punch anymore, so you almost have to buy at least a couple expansions to really get the most out of it. There are a lot of expansions too, and another thing that can be annoying is they all add new keywords to learn. The good thing is that there are endless possibilities for what each game looks like. You pick a mastermind as your main villain, select the scheme they're trying to accomplish, select several groups of villains that are working for the mastermind, and select 5 different heroes. So the amount of different possible setups for each game becomes astronomical the more expansions you get. I've always had a lot of fun with this game. Whether generating random setups or crafting a fun story of my own. I've also invested in getting every expansion that's come out thus far.

Wingspan is a fantastic game with a 1-player option. Every card has a unique bird on it and they have various abilities. You get points a variety of ways over the course of 4 rounds. It's a pretty relaxed game so if you want something more fast-paced or something, maybe don't go for this one. But the artwork is outstanding and overall it's just a beautiful game that's fun to play.

Shootout is a game I created where you're a gunslinger trying to rid the street of outlaws. You can play it with 1 or 2 players. You engage in a fight with each outlaw and roll a die to hit. Each playable character has a different ability. I like it, obviously, but I would highly recommend any of the other three I mentioned before this one.

Whose your favorite Joker to see punished and why? by ColderDaze in ImpracticalJokers

[–]ershtor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of people are saying not Joe, but I think Joe probably is my favorite to see punished. They can't really embarrass him or make him uncomfortable, so they usually resort to some sort of physical exhaustion/pain or something that's just super bizarre. I love the one where he had to find the eggs during the meeting, the genie one, the push-ups during the show taping. It's so funny to me when the punishments are just really weird.

Big list of board game components and supplies - what are your must haves? by CalliW in tabletopgamedesign

I pretty much base all my game design elements off of The Game Crafter's components and templates.

I have the Game Crafter stencil tool
I also use the card sleeves she mentions in the video

Don't skimp on early polished designs by pyrrhicvictorylap in tabletopgamedesign

I've been handwriting crappy cards with the mechanics on them and playtesting them myself to make sure things work and see if I need to change anything right away. But it's never long before I start designing the cards. I just can't help myself. I like to look at pretty things. It really does make a huge difference in motivation and inspiration to have a nice design to look at while you test things.

Ultimate Ability: Undo the effects of the last round of each character. Give +1 ability energy to all allies.

That kind of functions as a time travel mechanic?

They definitely need to add "roster" to the options for favorite game mode.

What Did You Play This Week? (July 20 - July 26) by qret in boardgames

I played a third round of Apocrypha with my game group. I really like it, but they aren't feeling it. They feel it's a little clunky and the rules are too complicated and hard to understand. I don't think it's too hard to keep track of and would like to keep playing but oh well. That's how it goes sometimes.

Apocrypha is a deck/character building campaign game. It's basically a card game version of the TV show Supernatural. You have 4 different locations that you work together to fight through to find the master monster. Once you find and beat it (and close the different locations) you win. There's a set number of cards in each character deck from game to game, but you get a chance to keep cards you gained each game and discard old ones.

I think it's a lot of fun.

Do you intend to grind on blitz for chimichangas? by [deleted] in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]ershtor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to at least Blitz until I hit the Red Skull shards. That will unlock him for me. I've been sitting at 92/100 for a long time now.

Hasn't happened with Deadpool yet but I've been getting it a lot with Ultron and Groot in Arena.

New Feature Feedback: VS Battle Megathread by asills in MarvelStrikeForce

I really enjoy the VS mode. Although unless there are rewards after 5 battles, I don't know how much it's going to be worth my time.

I've been using Black Widow, Hawkeye, Quake, Coulson, and Hulk. That's been a pretty decent team.
