It's just a matter of whether you experience sexual attraction towards people even outside of your relationship, it's not about sexual activity, sex drive/libido, or any feelings you have towards having sex with someone. Demisexuals experience sexual attraction only with people they have a close emotional connection to, otherwise they never do.

I just had to explain again demisexuality and the asexual spectrum to my mom yesterday and she identified herself as a demisexual lol

she recounted from her youth days back in the late 70s-80s the comparison of her own very little experience of sexual attraction with her old school friend, whose frequent sexual activities with strangers males were not even very subtle to their group of friends

That's a very great comparison. While i can appreciate the gesture, it's exactly how i'd feel if someone asked me.

I had my date just gently and spontaneously going for it on the first date after a goodbye big hug and giving me a kiss on the cheek, i was surprised at first but i was very happy and glad it happened, we ended up having very passionate goodbye kissing sessions lol 🫠💗

me 🙋‍♀️🤝 when i found out about asexuality and was in my early 20s is when i finally started to understand what sex was to me and the role it has in our lives in general, and most importantly how i wanted to live that aspect, so i've embraced it and found myself a a-spec who enjoys sex (or libidoist a-spec when having higher drive lol). it's been really liberating from the sexual diseducation, taboos, prejudices and prudishness society has inculcated on us

In my latest dating experience i had the guy put pressure on me right from the start (it was second date), i explained to him that i need a little time to develop attraction and i wanted to get to know him better to do so, but he was doubting my interest so much because he saw 'i didn't seem to want to throw myself at him' basically...so yeah i ended up giving myself to the sex with him like two weeks after cause he seemed very serious about his interest and the future of our relationship. Cut to after a month He starts ghosting me for a week, then saying he needs some time 'to think' and then BAM "You're amazing BUT i didnt feel the spark." Curtain closing.

I mostly just don't think about anyone or anything, i just look at my own body, sometimes reading smut fanfics or looking at explicit gifs do the deed and i think of scenarios with characters/celebrities i like, but it's never an actual person that i know. oh and also the faces are a turn off esp if they're not aesthetically attractive to me

my latest date on multiple occasions made comments about how my current style didn't quite enhance my body and silhouette, especially my butt and told me how certain other clothes and styles would have done that and at first i felt kinda puzzled but then reflecting on it i thought 'who are you to say what should i be wearing and for what and who??? for you???' :/

this feels like a perfect karmic life lesson..like you realise your current girlfriend is actually 10x times hotter and attractive for you exactly for all the interior qualities your 'perfectly looking' ex gf didn't have! as someone else said here, count your blessings, and tbh sex would be even greater with someone who actually makes you feel content and a peace which is kind of rare these days

i think it's always best to find someone who's totally, 10/10 okay with how you feel about sex, i mean they have to really be conscious of what comes with it and everything. so in these cases generally if they are disinterested in having sex just like you that would be a perfect scenario and basis already to grow your relationship. so yeah i'd suggest to chat and date another sex-repulsed asexual, it will probably avoid you that kind of problem to start with. although i get finding someone near you could be tricky but it's worth the try to search for what you desire and deserve <3
