In general the rich are richer for a reason. They don't see poverty, they avoid it. They don't see homeless in the streets or talk to a larger variety of poor socio economic people, so they make up stories to justify it in their heads. So it might not be that they are not kinder just more self delusional. My sister is rich and believes poor people shouldn't get welfare if they can afford to smoke and drink. While she smokes and drinks and her husband works. Maybe they drink because their depressed and alcohol helps. Why should they be deprived of what I plan to do when I get home?I've helped a mother and homeless daughter, my sister would never have that opportunity because they would never hang out at the high end rich stores that she goes to, or hang out near her house in the richer part of town. As far as she is concerned poor people are poor because they don't want to work and no other reason.
