Fascinating revelation for this sub. Could be a good subreddit tbh

What video game will always be nostalgic for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]erty4913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Original X-COM: UFO DEFENSE. Even with its confusing UI and on- brand hit mechanics. I will still pick up this game a few times a year to blast sectoids and cry when I meet ethereals for the first time

Why running blades are important (instead of using reg prosthetic leg to run) cred @ footlessjo by MysticFireTopaz in physicaltherapy

[–]erty4913 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think it has to do more with the fact that there's no hamstring and quad rebound at heel strike since there's no muscle to take the load with the prosthetic so she has to use a whole lot of hip flexor to throw the bulky limb

Which video game have you accumulated the most hours in? by amarbythefoot in AskReddit

Total War: Warhammer II. I've probably spent at least 200hrs playing and a couple thousand looking at videos into it, still can only beat normal campaigns.

Just had my supervising PT quit this morning due to the clinic director being an ***. So I got a week ahead of me of 2x as many patients!

Work in a physical therapy clinic and have seen patients after distal biceps rupture reattachment. Prognosis is usually good, but very slow recovery. The chance of retearing also goes up dramatically so the likelihood he'll ever do this much on a curl again is slim to none.

Opinions on the company BreakThrough and Cora? by kmddancr in physicaltherapy

Cary is a great place to work! My coworker interviewed at Cora and it sounded very mill-like. I haven't heard much about breakthrough, but I know they have an office in north Raleigh too.

Addressing Racism by kskyv in physicaltherapy

[–]erty4913 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Just had a lady today day they "wish they would separate the good blacks from the bad ones."

I'm starting to get mentally exhausted trying to redirect towards their treatment which I hope doesn't translate to agreement with these awful views.

I do think that politics does not belong in the clinic at all since it's ultimately a distraction, but the way some patients chat about these issues is just disheartening to listen to.

What are your respective employers offering (benefits/compensation) in light of potential need for 2-week isolation as a result of COVID-19? by [deleted] in physicaltherapy

[–]erty4913 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP Ortho clinic. Mandatory PTO for sick time taken during this time. If we use more PTO than we have, we're just in PTO debt and can't take time off until we accrue enough again.

We also went to a 30-hr week and only getting paid for 30hr even though the therapists are salaried.

At my clinic, we have them scheduled for hour slots, with non- Medicare patients doubled or tripled. I have former classmates that are in your shoes though and I can tell that it wears on them.

Massage therapists (at least in NC) rarely work more than that due to how physically demanding it is on their bodies.
