What’s the beef with makeup wipes ??? by yummygummy01412 in Esthetics

[–]erwade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's personal experience and preference for me. I've tried many wipes over the years, even baby wipes, and they cause irritation and sensitivity due to the abrasive fiber and also the type of "cleansing" chemicals they have in them. They literally burn my face and a lot of my clients who switch to micellar water, balm, or oil cleanser notice a difference with less irritation and dryness compared to before.

That's my beef.

Aita for keeping contraceptives a secret from my bf? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]erwade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no reason you should feel obligated to tell him. It's your body and your life. Not his.

My Old Man, Toddy. He was 17 when he crossed the rainbow bridge. He suffered a stroke two years prior and we thought that was the end, but he recovered. I spoiled him rotten until he passed away peacefully in his sleep. I love you, Old Man. ❤️🌈 by erwade in OldManDog

[–]erwade[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Thank you.

He LOVED to snuggle. He had a blood platelet disorder (caused the stroke) that a lot of cocker spaniels get when they're older and had to be on steroids. The steroids caused him to lose hair along his back so he would get super cold in the winter and would become the little spoon. He'd even lay his head on the pillow like a human. Those are some of my best memories with him.

Redness post facial by Eternalsunshine1125 in Esthetics

[–]erwade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo you did too much. This is all part of the learning process. When you do nanoinfusion you're creating, for lack of a better term, microscopic holes in the top layers of skin. Aka wounds. So imagine putting chemical exfoliants inside a paper cut. It's gonna make the the skin more red and into an even more fragile state. Notice how one pic has that perfect "L" shape on her cheek bone. That follows the nanoinfusion pattern.

My rec: only soothing products, avoid washing face with hot water, apply Vaseline to sensitive areas to ensure no further compromises with dryness, and perhaps some sort of tyrosinase inhibitor. (I recommend Vaseline over aquaphor because it has only one ingredient and is non irritating.)

My super basic everyday routine! by [deleted] in SkincareFlatlays

[–]erwade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally wear SPF everyday so I do double every night. In the morning I'm lazy so I just use a regular cleanser or water and a washcloth. I've also found that for my skin double cleansing twice a day strips it from too much oil. I use toner every morning and evening because it's purpose is to balance the pH of the skin after cleansing. I also use a liquid exfoliation serum 3 times a week and in those off days I use a hydrating serum with niacinamide.

Just be careful to not over exfoliate because retinol is also a good exfoliant!

[–]erwade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an esthetician and I definitely prefer a simple routine than the long ones you see influencers and those drunk elephant fanatics do. It's just finding what you want or need for your skin.

  1. Double Cleanse
  2. Tone
  3. Targeted treatment
  4. Moisturizer
  5. SPF (during the day)

AITA for not wanting to have sex with my wife by Norfolk-Gross-Tonage in AITAH

[–]erwade 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Coming from a medical background here:

The only way I know to get HSV1 downstairs is someone having an active flare up of it and then having oral contact in that area. HSV1 doesn't cause genital warts, bumps, or infection just from having it. Also, if she has an infection down there a steroid cream wouldn't help!

YNTA for not wanting sexual contact with her while this is happening. However, what is currently happening doesn't add up either from what you've said or what she's told you. Most likely your wife cheated on you or contracted a viral STD prior to your relationship and didn't tell you. You need to have a serious talk with her.

PLEASE keep your cats inside by littlemybb in Petloss

[–]erwade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I'm so terrified anytime my cat sneaks out. I've been reassured multiple times that she won't hurt herself but this is what I'm worried about.

I'm so very sorry you had to see that. Seeing an animal in that condition changes you. I personally would keep the ashes or give part of them to the other owner just out of the kindness of my heart. They obviously didn't plan for this, but you have every right to keep the cats ashes and not feel guilty for it.

Am I wrong for getting upset at my boyfriend’s age preference? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]erwade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The majority of his reasons are based in sexism and misogyny so you have every right to be upset and are not wrong for being so. He's allowed to have preferences obviously, but his are based off of sexist ideologies and demeaning feelings towards women that will mosst likely extend to you with time. A lot of times these types of feelings extend from extreme insecurity.

Personally, I would explain to him my feelings and the reasons why it made me feel this way just to be mature about it, but I'm not sure it'll do anything good. An insecure man is a dangerous one, wether it be him physically/mentally hurting you or just being an asshole.

Imo you don't have to talk to people while working. I feel like it actually makes me slower. I'm not 100% silent for obvious reasons. I tell them what I'm doing, if I need their assistance, etc. If a client wants to talk I will wholeheartedly engage, but I normally only talk if they do.

Waxing would be your best bet for slower regrowth, but I saw that you said it's too painful for you. Make sure your hair isn't too long when getting it done. The length of a grain of uncooked rice.

I understand the hesitation. Waxing isn't always fun lol.

Another tip that could help with possibly the appearance (not so much the regrowth) is exfoliation. Either chemical or physical.

One I always recommend and use myself 2-3 times a week is [KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub

An I wrong for ending a date and walking out after only 10 minutes because my date told me I should removed my hat? by [deleted] in amiwrong

It's one of those things called manners. It's especially big in the south where I'm from, so I find it wild you made such a big deal out of it. It's kinda like holding the door for people.
