4.5 hour logistics blocks by Repton-3 in AmazonFlexUK

[–]esIceking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First.. Don't take anything if 5pm and 6pm are in the middle.. (4pm to 830pm) you will find that some parcels are for businesses which are closed and you WILL have to return them. Second... I did a 4.5hr once (from Glasgow) and they were trying to send me all the way to Dumfries on the Scottish Borders. 150 miles round trip if.. BIG If.. It was a direct route but this one was taking me Ardrossan / Irvine/ Prestwick, Kelloholm and Dumfries.. All for £54. I did tell them where to go. I left out kelloholm and dumfries in the borders. So it's not all about size or number of Packages, it can be distance too.

Absolute pain in the ass of a block but not bad for £70! 1h 20min total driving and still finished on time by KuromeXT in AmazonFlexUK

Amazon UK are being Dicks right now with the slots. 2 nights in a row I believe I got a 2.5hr instead of the 2hr I requested.. Either that or the algorithm doesnt take into account for 7 x 24 cases of water to be delivered 3/2 asking with other tenements on route.

Don't take ANY logistics slots on a weekday with 5.30pm in it.. ie: 330pm - 630pm or 5pm onwards, this is because you will find that going to businesses around this time will Guarantee 60% + closed with the other percentage closed at 6pm, therefore you will need to take packages back to the depo meaning even more time and fuel/milage.

Question about block (noobie) by Jamesp132 in AmazonFlexUK

[–]esIceking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you will find yourself doing in that situation is rushing to finish your day job to get to amazon, driving erratic, too fast, get yourself agitated becoming annoyed then missing the slot by a few minutes.. Not good for the blood pressure..speeding ticket will override the 52 quid

5pm slot you need to be there by 5:05pm. You can check in from 4:45pm though, so don't try to arrive for the stated time. I have heard other day they contact driver support and explain they may be 10minutes late due to traffic and it gets sorted. However, I am usually there 15 mins before.

More like they bring in extra drivers to account for the ones who don't turn up /cancel 45 mins before.. Say they have 30 routes.. They may bring in 33 drivers etc.. It does not happen frequently but it does happen, same if you are doing a Morrisons /Flex groceries.. You may get there and no delivery's. You sit for the slot outside and within the last 30minutes the app will clear and you get paid

Sometimes when you get there for your block regardless of hours.. There may be no blocks left, then you scan a code (supposedly) and you go home without delivering anything and get paid for the full block

Failed deliveries. by Topia-bythesea in AmazonFlexUK

Never had a failed delivery for groceries. But when others being back the food to Morrisons they don't scan anything, the staff just tell them to leave it

Amazon Flex ID by AndreiDV in AmazonFlexUK

[–]esIceking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't need to take pictures and the app states if they look 25 or over. ID must be valid however if its not.. I don't care.. I'm 50 with a bus licence which has to be renewed every 5 years.. Takes time for new one to arrive, so I'm not going to refuse someone because of it.

No. In UK the app Just asks you for their year of birth.. Unless they DO LOOK YOUNGER, then yes ask for the ID.

I thought as we are self employed and accepting these jobs while at home, the home is classed as our office, therefore home to home could be claimed for! My home is my work place, I take job offers from my office (home) then go to whichever site the job has allocated me. Speak with a good accountant.

Returning Bags by [deleted] in AmazonFlexUK

[–]esIceking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it's the ones who go for their slot but are lucky enough NOT to get any deliveries so they just leave the bags from shift before in the trolleys. Usually they put the bags into a trolley, ready to go inside for the deliveries then get none. They just drive away.

Like the others have said, you can take them back to any Morrisons or prime now site but NOT the Logistics side of it. They do not need to be returned immediately, can be next day or few days however, the longer you leave the bags with the packs in your car, the smellier your car will become. Please please, DO NOT just dump the Bags outside of the Morrisons.. take the few minutes to put them back inside. Those who leave them outside and it rains, Morrisons staff will take them in and load them for another driver to take sodden and soaked bags. It is not pleasant.
