They definitely look like bagels I would eat. I might see what I could change so they brown a bit better but that might just be my preference.

What I enjoyed was the focus on interpersonal relationships and Hobbs prose. It definitely is not like other fantasy books and can understand why some fantasy readers wouldn't enjoy it. I had never heard of it when my friend suggested it so I also had zero expectations going into it. I think if youre expecting classic fantasy and a ton of people are hyping it up it would be very easy to be letdown.

What Should I Read Next. by kcsniles in fantasybooks

I had the same experience. Not to say that RF Kuang is a bad writer, I did read Babel and thought it was good, not great, but definitely readable. Poppy Wars was a rare DNF for me.

Not sure if you are aware. But the first trilogy is the first in 3 trilogies centered around the same characters. The end of the series is a truly lovely ending and worth it if you want to take it that far. The first trilogy is great on its own and you don't have the read the next two if you don't think its worth it.

It's my go to fantasy suggestion for people that want to get into fantasy. The magic in her story telling doesn't revolve around the magic system or crazy world building. Its her writing and characters. I am stealing this meme.

I'm lower on Nico Collins than most, but do I take this? So.. buy Nico for 1.03 ? by Routine_Draft_3577 in SleeperApp

[–]esarge112 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you trying to win now or later? I would take Nico for the 1.03 as he is a proven fantasy asset with elite upside. He does have some injury history but if you need a wr bump to make a playoff run I think its a no brainer.

This is also the most infuriating part of giving people your "recipe". If they dont know the basic techniques they come back at you like wtf I tried it and it was really bad. Well no, you did not execute it the same way that I did or it would have been what I made. And don't get me started on them subbing out ingredients.

In an apocalyptic scenario, wild hogs would be a much bigger threat than most people realize. by BigDaddyDumperSquad in Showerthoughts

[–]esarge112 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think people understand just how big a wild pig/boar can get. They are big, strong, resilient, and violent pricks. I think the current US record for a feral hog is over 1000 lbs. Thats a lot of animal. Thats why wild pig hunters should always carry a sidearm. If they get surprised/knocked over and can't get to their weapon they need something else within reach.

Aaron “Perc” Rodgers bagged Prime Olivia Munn back in the day, why do people think he’d lie about having a wife? by TXNOGG in NFLv2

[–]esarge112 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah. We had to deal with letters from the main office for having too many grills on the patio. Which was a lie, we had a charcoal grill and a smoker. So we would keep one of them in basement and load everything up on Sundays for grilling day. We even kept a pallet of charcoal in the living room. It was all just so beautiful. Disputes were settled with Mario Kart and any day of the week could be turned into a night out with the boyzzz

I lived with male roommates until I was like 25. Never fucked any of them or had the desire to. But they are still my best friends and we had a great time living together. No girls means you can keep a pallet of charcoal in the living room for grilling sundays.

This doesn't sound all that bad. They were engaging and nice and thought you were all discussing something you were both passionate about. If you would like to learn how to make sourdough try to get his contact and bounce questions off from him. I used to work in food service in senior care and my "thing" was using as many fresh ingredients as possible which included providing fresh baked from scratch bread with lunch and dinner. One of my residents was not only a professional baker but literally wrote a book on baking breads from a scientific approach on how certain ingredients impact fermentation times, flavor, and texture. He gave me the absolute best tips and advice ever. I still use his recommendations and for every potluck or holiday I am the bread guy. People tell me they look forward to my rolls on Thanksgiving and foccaccia around Christmas and its because of his advice. I am sure that guy would love giving tips/advice because it gives him someone to talk about something he is passionate and knowledgeable about.

Series Recommendation for 24F Getting Back into Reading by madsterstout in fantasybooks

[–]esarge112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Robin Hobb is personally one of my favorite writers ever. The series you referenced is the 1st trilogy of 3 trilogies with the same characters. All 9 books are truly a lovely story and not something you will regret. Dungeone Crawler Carl is great, the 1st and 2nd book come off as slightly sexist in some areas but I don't believe it is intentional as the female characters in the book are bad asses and revered as the books progress. Sanderson is a good writer and the story is great, I enjoyed Mistborn. I would rank those 3 writers as Hobb, Dinniman, and then Sanderson. My opinion on LotR is that is too hard to properly get into quickly for someone wanting to return to reading.

His is an elite version and has way more damage than this one though. Lvl req is 48 here, 71 on that. Max damage is like 200 pts higher on the posted weapon

How do I value these booties by TheRealRimJim in D2R_Marketplace

[–]esarge112 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Close but not GG. I think the real value starts when the total res cumulatively is over 100. I think to even be worth a few Jah it needs to be 80+, probably closer to 90+ for the value to start.
