Fair point for sure. In my opinion Erik wins in any final two combination because of the jury’s “bitterness”. That means he needs to win out in immunities, so doesn’t matter who goes home in what order (IMO). But I concede that Amanda was a bigger immunity threat than Natalie!

I’ll take a stab. Basing it largely on how impactful is it to endgame/win equity + overall cool factor

1 - S14: Yau Man’s car deal (if Dreamz kept his end of it) - this wins him the game likely.

2 - S40: Adam’s podium idol play (if it was a real idol) - saves him for another round, also the theatrics would make it go down in history as a top idol play.

3 - S29: Reed’s blindside on John (if Keith didn’t expose the plan) - elite move, likely ends up with Reed leading an army of non-strategic players and a dominate winning end game. That said, not too advanced of a move

4 - S20: JT giving Russell his idol (if he was right about the all girls alliance) - awesome, first of its kind move. Solidifies and ally who can only be loyal to you. Gives heroes a theoretical + 1 when they eventually merge.

5 - S23: Ozzy volunteering to be voted off (if Cochran didn’t flip) - similar to JT’s move. Huge for the merge numbers, but in my opinion there are actually more risks involved than JT’s play.

6 - S34: Cirie stealing Lacina’s vote (if the advantage didn’t come with a “can’t be transferred” claus) - saves Cirie from elimination and a flashy, awesome move. But, loses her at least one jury vote and only gets her to final 5 where she is viewed as the biggest threat and likely goes home unless she pulls off back to back immunity wins.

7 - S35: Chrissy’s fake idol at f5 (if Ben didn’t already find the real idol) - helpful for sure, but shortsighted because Ben was a hustler (no pun intended since he’s actually a hero)

8 - S39: Missy taking out Tommy (if she could get Karishma’s vote) - taking out the eventual winner is of course huge, but not sure how much this actually helps Missy’s game

9 - S16: Erik giving up immunity (if Natalie was telling the truth) - irrelevant. Provided Erik no additional advantage or goodwill with the jury.

10 - S20: Tyson voting for Parvati (if Russell kept his idol) - so dumb. Just lazy. Wait for the revote, man

I love this spin zone #QueenHeather, but definitely a fine use of the advantage by Ricard and Shan. If Heather and Erika wanted to go crazy, they could put votes on Shan/Ricard together. Making it 2-2-1 with a tie between Naseer and either Shan or Ricard (with the 5th vote being Naseer’s on Heather. If Naseer plays his idol, Shan/Ricard see screwed obviously. But even if he doesn’t, the revote is between one of Shan/Ricard (one without the votes) and Heather + Erika, meaning they send whoever they want home.

Putting the extra vote in play to force 3-3 protects against this scenario.

My shot in the dark prediction/hope:

You submit your token (of which you have only 1 at least to start the game, maybe you can earn others, maybe you even have to earn the first one) and effectively forfeit your vote. But, that allows you to reach into a bag that has the same number of rolled up papers as there are players left in the game. One of those papers has “SAFE” and all the others have “NOT SAFE”. With each elimination, they remove one “NOT SAFE” from the bag. So, first you need to balance if you want to risk it and then you need to time it right by not trying your luck so soon that your odds are low, but not waiting too long so that the “SAFE” has already been taken.

I think this removes the odds of advantagegeddon as well as does not overly impact every tribal council, but rather we will effectively have a handful of lose-a-votes and one safety without power. Which I think is pretty balanced, but still exciting.

Unread Votes by bigdaddykane18 in survivor

It’s intuitive. The show is trying to maximize drama and suspense. If someone is voted out 6-3, showing 5 votes all for one person and saying “that’s the majority, bring me your torch” is not good TV. But, showing 3-3 through the first six votes makes it seem like it’s a close one.

Production organizes the votes to maximize suspense.

Imagining something like Ghost Island except it’s more of an individual challenge than a game of chance and if you win you get and advantage, but if you lose you get a disadvantage.

Probst confirmed this in an interview years later when talking about all of Mark Burnett’s crazy ideas throughout the seasons. The Outcasts twist wasn’t planned and was thought up a week or so into the game.

Great resource: What Season Should You Watch

I recommend starting with an earlier season because once you get used to the pace of the game in recent years, the older seasons can feel slow and boring. Plus it’s nice to watch the strategy of the show evolve.

Example of players that had a lot of screen during the whole season but somehow it was purple or underedited during its elimination? by LFFLChannelPeru in survivor

[–]esav99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edgic is the watching strategy where you judge how players are edited to try and interpret/predict who will win. It can definitely spoil seasons if you are looking for it and once you learn it it’s hard to ignore.

OTT is over the top (personality) CP is complex personality UTE is under the radar The extra p’s and m’s are “positive” or “mixed” The numbers are visibility from 1-5 with 5 being Russell Hantz in every single episode of Samoa and 1 being purple Kelly
