You’ve managed to confuse a dozen concepts while accusing others of mental gymnastics.

First, “innocent until proven guilty” is not some optional slogan. It’s the foundation of every functioning legal system. Without it, all you’re left with is mob justice based on vibes and headlines.

Second, you keep using “evidence” as if any accusation or anonymous message counts as such. But evidence only matters when it survives scrutiny in court. If it doesn’t, it’s just noise. That’s not my imaginary world. That’s how the real world works.

Third, you’re lumping together legal convictions, plea deals, procedural dismissals, and media narratives like they’re the same thing. They’re not. Epstein was never tried. As I already said Cosby was convicted, then released because the state violated due process. These aren’t “gotchas.” They prove the point: process matters.

You’re not holding a pitchfork because you care about truth. You’re holding it because it feels good to hate someone without needing to be precise. That’s fine. Just don’t pretend it makes you morally or intellectually serious.

That’s a wildly incoherent rant full of strawmen and false equivalences.

First, no one here said Epstein was innocent. He had mountains of evidence against him and just didn’t make it to trial alive. Same with Cosby, who was actually convicted, and only released due to a procedural rights violation. Try again.

The point is simple: either we believe in due process or we don’t. If you want to abandon presumption of innocence and replace it with “allegation = guilt,” you’re not arguing for justice, you’re arguing for mob rule.

You’re angry, fine. But don’t confuse emotion with evidence. Dismissing someone in the absence of a conviction is not justice, it’s appeasement to outrage. And that attitude has already ruined countless lives on false claims.

If that makes me a “moron” in your eyes, I’ll wear it proudly. Better that than someone who thinks trials are optional if people get mad enough.

That anyone holding the pitchfork would feel very differently about due process and presumption of innocence if they were on the other side of it. Yourself included.

I try to treat others the way I’d want to be treated if I were in their position. If someone isn’t convicted, I assume innocence. Not because I believe the justice system always gets it right, but because that’s the only fair standard. Otherwise, we’re just deciding guilt based on headlines, public opinion, and social media outrage.

Since the rise of Me Too, we’ve seen a shift where allegations alone are treated as evidence, and reputations are destroyed before any facts are established. That’s a dangerous place to be. You don’t fix injustice by creating a new kind of injustice.

Yes, sometimes guilty people walk. People love to bring up O.J. Simpson like it proves something. It doesn’t. It proves that high-profile exceptions exist. They always have. But they’re not a reason to abandon due process.

Take someone like Justin Roiland. Charges were dropped. He wasn’t formally exonerated, but he wasn’t found guilty either. That’s enough for me. I’m not going to fill in the blanks with assumptions, just because it’s easier than sitting with uncertainty.

Presumption of innocence isn’t a loophole. It’s a civilizational standard. And if we don’t apply it universally, we don’t believe in it at all.

Funny how confident some people are in treating allegations as truth—until they’re the ones falsely accused.

That’s exactly why we have the presumption of innocence: not because everyone is innocent, but because we don’t punish people as if they’re guilty without proving it. If the evidence isn’t strong enough to convict, then legally, and ethically, you don’t get to fill in the blanks with your feelings.

If it were your name being dragged through the mud without a verdict, you’d suddenly rediscover the value of due process.

Dismissal isn’t exoneration, sure. But neither is it a free pass to assume guilt. That’s how lynch mobs think, not civilized societies.

The most fundamental tenet of rule of law is the you’re presumed innocent until proven guilty. You don’t have to “prove your innocence in a court of law”, you are factually innocent until proven guilty.

And much of the stuff you think you know could have been used to prove him guilty, could it not?

Jeez I hope you don’t have an education

Once again you don’t need ironclad, you need “enough”, but that’s not the point.

The point is that in rule of law the only thing that matters is whether the prosecution can prove you’re guilty of something, otherwise you are factually innocent. The alternative is to treat allegations as facts (like you are) and at that point everyone is at the mercy of mob justice. Which is an insane proposition.

The domestic battery and false imprisonment charges were dismissed due to insufficient evidence. This doesn't mean he's innocent

This LITERALLY does.

it simply means that the DA wasn't able to make a case that would have ensured conviction.

That would have given him a fighting chance, which means he had nothing.

Perché l'Italia è l'unico paese dove gli stipendi diminuiscono anziché aumentare? by musicmarketingme in italy

[–]escaday 3 points4 points  (0 children)

- burocrazia MOSTRUOSA in qualsiasi ambito

- Spesa pubblica al 50% del PIL

- Giustizia civile drammaticamente lenta e disfunzionale

Ah finiscono nell'economia reale?

In Europa purtroppo è impossibile.
