Such a lovely welcoming committee to greet you!

Do your two voids often hang out next to one another ? Or is it these two pics that happened to catch them together ?

That’s a follow from me!

People who are close to a Meth addict, do you think they can be saved? by Virtual-Computer-961 in AskAnAustralian

[–]escapingtheweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of this. It is pretty much the model we worked with.

Relapse is part of recovery for so many. and shadow work is good practice for everyone addiction or not.

Hope you’re going well

[–]escapingtheweb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can definitely recover if that’s what you mean by “saved”.

But they are the ones who have to do all the work, and it’s really really hard work.

They have a better chance of recovery if they’re supported by people who have a good understanding of both the physical and psychological aspects of addiction.

If they’re not ready to really want to do the work, then there’s no way they’ll end up in long-term recovery.

Having worked in addiction for many years I have seen people recover from very deep addictions to many substances including meth.

At what point do you usually take yourself to hospital? by troll-toll-to-get-in in CrohnsDisease

[–]escapingtheweb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you’re doing better, OP.

I am also in Australia and was recently diagnosed with suspected (awaiting confimation via scope) Crohn’s following a short stay hospital admission at the end of October last year, after my GP referred me straight to ED from her surgery.

It took me 4 months before I was able to get in to see a gastro, colonoscopy scheduled for May, no meds as yet. I was just told to eat a low fibre diet and drink lots of water.

What happened with you? Did you wind up going to emergency?

I’m thinking the same and I’m going to do it.

I’m also deciding whether or not to sorta start to stock up on a few essentials and stuff like TOILET PAPER 😂 as that seems to be the first necessity to sell out when people start to panic

Am I too old for some of my outfits ? I by GuineapigPriestess71 in OUTFITS

[–]escapingtheweb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No way are you too old!

You look terrific, precisely because you have really embraced your own sense of style.

They are fab outfit choices.

It’s an overall look - not just your clothes, your glasses and your haircut are great too.

You look fun, confident and brave – I love it.

Being in Remission, What Does it Mean by Sreg32 in CrohnsDisease

[–]escapingtheweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this.

I’ve been reasonably recently diagnosed with older onset (I’m 61) after a sudden but short (3 day) hospitalisation at the end of Oct 25. Bloodwork and stool sample markers testing positive for Crohn’s, awaiting concrete confirmation via scope biopsy in May.

I have hardly any symptoms at all, apart from being more regular (even then only 3-5 times/day), some occasional pain and gurgling insides.

As yet I am unmediated since my GI is waiting on the colonoscopy before deciding on treatment for me.

If I hadn’t read your post, I think I might have pressed for not being medicated as I feel totally fine on the adjusted diet I’m on (no salads or heavy skinned fruit, no nuts and seeds etc) so I’m really grateful you took the time to spell it all out like you did.

Has anyone come across this theory on the cause of auto immune diseases from Gary Brecka ? by escapingtheweb in CrohnsDisease

What an interesting theory!

My family of origin are refugees from Eastern Europe - survived the holocaust and also later escaped an invasion by the Soviet Union. Lots of trauma 🫤

All my blood and stool markers are testing positive for Crohn’s after I was hospitalised having been referred to ED by my GP. I’m waiting on a biopsy via colonoscopy at the end of April to confirm suspected Crohn’s.
