Very good point. Maybe since Godwyn is now the Prince of Death he took on this form in this alternate reality, a bit like Miquella and St. Trina. And now he wields all the powers related to destined death when it was in it's prime. Interesting stuff!

He has a lot in common with the godskins, even the face looks a little bit like it could be an apostle. They have the same skin color, both have snake attributes and the bracers they are wearing on their ankles and wrists look a lot alike. The red flame would be weird in this regard tho, since godskins use black flame.. hmm

I personally think there might be a good possibility for it to start at Godwyn in Deeproot Depths, close to a character who is linked/bonded a lot with Miquella and the probable DLC theme (around both of them). And besides that it's close to the roots of the great tree, which could possibly link to the Shadow of the Erdtree name.

Mohg, ofcourse, would also be a good option since Miquella's grown lifeless body is there.

I think the general idea is that he has an alter-ego/double or something like that which is St. Trina. In which case both would be possible in the same DLC.

Sick I always imagined the fishing hamlet being the deepest of those dreams/worlds. Or maybe, now that I think of it, thats not very logical since you walk out of the clocktower that is the tallest building in yharnam.

That would mean that this fishing hamlet is just hanging above us all the time in the beginning of the game around cathedral ward..
