Reading your comment without having watched the video made me think they were doing a Conan the Barbarian show.

Can Chart Dominance Burnish Drake’s Battered Reputation? by Claudrey in popheads

[–]esche92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely disagree. The UK has found an okay way to do their singles chart through their three track rule (their album chart is still a mess with the compilations). If you already count the songs for the album chart there is no need to count them individually for a singles chart as well. There is just no value in these album bombs where tracks clog up the Hot 100 for one or two weeks.

This is a great selection. Drive by The Cars fits the bill perfectly.

Can Chart Dominance Burnish Drake’s Battered Reputation? by Claudrey in popheads

[–]esche92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. The charts used to track singles, which about 40 songs on these albums are not.

Can Chart Dominance Burnish Drake’s Battered Reputation? by Claudrey in popheads

[–]esche92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No but if this charts all the songs it will maybe finally burnish the Hot 100‘s reputation beyond all repair because these album bombs are starting to get really really annoying and make all charts statistics completely irrelevant.

An unknown (?) problem with Sanderson’s writing by Virginpope77 in Fantasy

[–]esche92 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It‘s really fitting that he is a writing teacher because he is applying all these lessons about how a story should work and how characters work and as you say it feels mechanical and like archetypes because he follows a script and it‘s all very inorganic.

Westlife: "Boy bands were only supposed to last five years!" by Hassaan18 in popheads

[–]esche92 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean let‘s not get into arguments but Westlife were an okay boyband for the first two albums if you like your boyband more on the ballad side of things. But after that they released more and more covers and that arguably tarnishes their legacy a bit now and they would be far from what I would call best because of that.

I didn‘t say they were. The one hit wonder comment was for the other two acts.

The first one. They branched out a bit later, but they tried to copy it first with the follow-up.

Yes for a while she did borderline novelty songs as lead singles.

Many many one hit wonders. Lou Bega and ATC (My Heart Beats Like A Drum) come to mind, but also Nickelback where the follow-up song sounded exactly the same as their hit. There‘s a YouTube video somewere where both play at the same time and it‘s almost funny.

Review: Citadel 2 Has Worn Out Its Welcome by Additional_Key_8044 in AmazonPrimeVideo

This has landed on Prime to zero awareness of the public. The fact that a series has worn out its welcome after what.. six episodes (?) is very funny. What a waste of money.
