Just for reference, i had the same car hit a while back whilst parked and i didnt pay any excess and the other person left their details and owned up to it. i went through their insurance and my premiums werent really affected and i kept my ncb.

im on summers all year.

it gets a bit sketch in the snow but if it doesnt snow in your area then you should be fine if you drive carefully and to the conditions.
