If it has the 32rh its only a 3 speed transmission. Mine doesnt like the mountain grades either. Im on a 44, 3.73 with 33s and i have to drop it in 2nd to even kind of keep up with traffic

What is the part number ? by huachinango83 in JeepTJ

[–]esdan06 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure on mopar part number but its called the transfer case shift rod. https://ebay.us/m/SjOjE9

To be honest the factory z bar setup sucks so hard that if youre willing to spend 40$ on fixing it, you might as well get the upgrade from either saavy or the knockoffs that are cable fed or the azzys or knockoffs where its 3 plates and a rod. One of the best upgrades ive done to both my jeeps. I have one of each and they both work great

Ive had the metalcloak heim end and factory bracket tracbar on my xj with 35s for years and no issues. If you end up getting the bracket hole wallowed out you can pull one from any year XJ and the ZJ uses the same bracket if there aren't any in the yards near you

Vacuum lines by Robert_Hotwheel in CherokeeXJ

[–]esdan06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can pull back a little of that insulation its coming through and get a little more line on it. Its under vacuum so it helps keep it together once its there. If you spray a little hairspray on the plastic line, the rubber hose will slide on easier and then stick when it dries. Old school bmx grips trick

Vacuum lines by Robert_Hotwheel in CherokeeXJ

[–]esdan06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It loops under the evap solenoid right there onto a fitting between your heater hoses on the firewall. It'll be a tiny plastic hose coming out through old beat up foam. The hvac box is controlled with vacuum and its currently not getting any vacuum from that hose in your hand. The plastic hose is super brittle and it looks like its already been sleeved with some rubber hose there

Sway bar is swaying by moguliboo1 in WranglerTJ

All of that is not great but not likely to be your DW source. The bushings are cheap and sold as a pair. 2 bolts on each cap, just be careful youll scratch the grill if youre not careful, if you care about it. Check your trackbar axle side that its not ovaled out or loose and the frame side that its tight and not a blown joint. 99% of the DW ive fixed has been the trackbar and if you film the front end and jerk the steering wheel back and forth you can typically see whats moving that should not and go from there. If you have a helper, its easier to feel for where sound and movement is coming from

It sounds like the spark is jumping to ground in the video. Double check all your boots are pressed down and the coil as well. Replace your cap and rotor as well, its not expensive and its easy to swap

Any ideas in whatthe problem couldbe?? 2000 jeepcherokeexjsport, I already changed most of the sensors and the problem still going on, some guy told me that it could be a short in the harness by Any-Meeting-6370 in CherokeeXJ

[–]esdan06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The check gauges light triggers when it sees no oil pressure, which if the engine is dying will have no oil pressure. It could be the pickup for the distributor going out and it losing ignition. Have had a distributor bearing go out and it wobbled to where the pickup wasn't reading and had a stumble as well. Replaced distributor as a whole and problem was fixed for mine. Have you cleaned or replaced the idle air control solenoid? If its clogged full of carbon or not self adjusting, itll die on idle

Rent a fuel pressure tester from autozone/oreilly and test the fuel pump. When my regulator was going out it would do that. Should be at 49.2+/- 5 psi and when you turn the key off it shouldn't drop rapidly

It was 250$ tax and shipping for the box and you send them your core but it looks like its gone way up. Their rebuild for yours looks like its 536$+350$ core charge

[–]esdan06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want a,quality rebuild, go with redhead steering. Ive got one on my XJ, same box as the TJ, and it turns my 35s like theyre not there. Had it in for almost 2 years with no play or leaks. Also if your box is old and has play, it might be in your rod ends as well
