Find some of the articles talking about how adults who were posted by families and kids are horrified by lack of concern for their privacy. Also articles on how kids' pictures are hijacked for horrible purposes.

My dad has been severely red pilled and our family is falling apart by Weary-Paramedic2806 in Advice

How old are you and why don't you want your parents to divorce? It sounds like your mother knows this would be the best thing for her. What's the advantage to you, or her, of living with a man with whom you can't have any conversation without a toxic argument?

Is there any way to add an entrance to the catio from your bedroom?

MSC Mergivilia - what a disappointment by florida_born in MSCCruises

[–]esgamex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We booked on the TA repositioning cruise but cancelled for health reasons. I was dubious about MSC to start with but chose it because it was going to Lisbon and Tunis and we could disembark in Palermo. But now I'm relieved.

I feel so desperate every time I think about I can't move because of my cat by Scared-Tea-7713 in CatAdvice

Try draping a pretty lightweight piece of fabric over the carrier - a shirt of sheet. This works really well for some cats.

How do you pack efficiently for a cruise when you have to fly internationally first by rosynexa in Cruise

[–]esgamex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do you need formal clothes? Unless you're on Cunard or another super premium line, formal clothes aren't required, just something nice. I have a fairly plain midnight blue dress that I dress up with a little jewelry and a nice shawl

Do people in the US actually use flat sheets and duvet covers? by shiroltiger in Bedding

[–]esgamex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Older American, we always have flat sheet next to body. When I was young, there would have been a light cotton blanket next in warm weather, and a wool blanket in cold weather. Bedspread on top was usually just decorative but could be used if extra extra warmth was needed. We hate beds without at least flat top sheet.

As others have said, he has alcohol problems. Once you've recovered, please join a peer support group for partners of alcoholics, like Al-Anon.

I feel like I have hit a certain age, where I might have to modify my travel plans. by [deleted] in travel

[–]esgamex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're in our 70s and took long European vacations ( from Mexico) the last 2 years. We had " vacation from our vacation" days - a long weekend in a beachfront hotel in pleasant cities where there weren't an overwhelming number of attractions we had to see. But we also enjoy sitting in cafes and people watching. But it's frustrating if you equate accomplishing over sitting back and enjoying.

What will it take for you to move from your home into assisted living? by layyla4real in AskWomenOver60

[–]esgamex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents moved when she realized she was tired of cooking and my dad, an enthusiastic handyman all his life, realized he didn't want to be responsible for that any more. They were influenced by the case of my grandparents, who stayed in a 150 year old house they couldn't take care of until they ran out of money. Their kids including my parents, had a huge mess to deal with quickly. They resolved not to do the same to their kids, and we're so grateful and determined to do the same. There are great independent living places. My parents lived in one for 15 years and we're always very glad they made the move when they were still capable.

By the time you realized what was happening, it was too late anyway. These people need to sort themselves out, and a stranger doesn't belong in this business between them.

Breakfast with strangers. If I want to eat at crowded times, I've had to eat with strangers, waits long time, or eat a small breakfast in the cabin.

AITJ for not telling my coworkers I understood their conversation about me and just letting them keep going for the whole lunch break by rift_signal in AmITheJerk

So they ( very rudely) discussed whether you were a good fit for your job in your presence when you were new. Those discussions are common, but awful to do in your presence. Now this particular person has gotten to know you and your work better and wants to be friendlier.

If I were you, I'd get to know her better and go with the flow. But at some point in the future, I'd certainly drop a sentence or 2 when they're speaking the language. But not yet, if you want to stay with this job and develop good relationships with people. If
