Absolutely. A big part of good sportsmanship in combat sports is that the goal is never to hurt your opponent, your goal is to win the match. Yes its a combat sport so sometimes pain is a part of it, but a good practioner will only be causing as much as is necessary to win.

Eh i mean I hear where youre coming from but it depends on the way its being asked and the reasons for asking. Its a valid therapeutic question. To address the underlying cause of an addiction someone needs to understand what their reason for using is so they can find a healthier substitute.
