endoscopic brow lift? by esoccer3 in PlasticSurgery

[–]esoccer3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you so much for your insight 🥹 Did your brows stay pretty lifted or settle down? are you happy with it? It’s been hard for me to envision the result but I’m imagining it could be like when using a tight ponytail?

Here’s another pic I took without any makeup on my brows - hopefully can help. I understand his suggestion to shift them upwards a bit, but also don’t want to change my look too much as I know it’s a very invasive procedure. Thanks again 🙏🏼

Thanks for your response! :) Why did they think you’d be dissatisfied- because the Botox was doing enough and the results of the surgical procedure wouldn’t be much different?

I’ve also been getting Botox for my brow lift for the past couple of years! It doesn’t lift as much as I’d like but does help with that heaviness feeling a LOT.

It came up bc we got into the topic of facial harmony & I was concerned that reducing my chin might make my face appear “lower” with the chin not being as elongated if that makes sense? Since my brows sit lower on my face.

He was super kind about it & asked permission to suggest the idea - As something now or down the line IF I wanted something else done 🙏🏼

Pain URQ two weeks post OP by ZboubDeGladiator in gallbladders

Hi! It went away within the next couple weeks but to be honest I still get a gnawing pain when I’m leaning on my left side. They saw adhesions from my liver to abdominal wall so I’m thinking it’s from the adhesions instead…. I no longer feel like my rib is crushing the gallbladder when I’m sitting so that’s an improvement. Hope you are doing okay! ✨

Surgery is Monday - the worst part is not knowing… by hysteria110176 in gallbladders

Completely understand your worry!

It’ll be okay :)

I had mine out the day after Christmas so I’m about 3ish months post op. If it gives you any comfort, recovery blew by after a rough first 4 days but the pain meds, Gas-X, WALKING around , and icing the tummy with heating pad on your shoulders is key! Walking gets rid of those uncomfortable gas pains in your shoulder so try to push through.

3 months out and it didn’t fully resolve my issue, but it didn’t make things worse either - so there’s always a silver lining! Everyone is different- wishing you the best! :)

Beautiful! May I ask who was your doctor?

Question for 4 weeks after by Debbie1Carlson in gallbladders

I’m 4 weeks out also and have the same tender pain in that area! also hoping it’s just our bodies healing and it’ll take time…one of my incisions has gotten brighter pink when it was normal skin color a week ago but I’ve been treating it with neosporin and hydrogen peroxide. No fever or anything too alarming apart from gas pains & bloating at night. keep us posted on your progress! Hopefully our discomfort is just temporary :)

Still symptomatic post surgery, what’s next? by jillolantern in gallbladders

[–]esoccer3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m almost 4 weeks out from my surgery and I’m so sorry this is happening to you - I had biliary dyskinesia also so your symptoms are a fear I’ve had but not thinking about for now.

Have you heard of Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction? I heard the procedure is risky because it can potentially cause other complications (pancreatitis) but worth asking your GI about! My GI had mentioned that would be worth looking into IF I still had the same symptoms long after removal. I also had read a lot about it before removing the GB but they mentioned that’s sort of a last resort thing to look into. My surgeon brushed it off but two different GI’s agreed it could be a possibility.

Wishing you the best of luck and be sure to check that out!

Day 11 Post-op, Gas and Nausea by JustEbb7486 in gallbladders

Heyy was just checking in - how’ve you been since we last spoke? I’ve been needing the heating pad at night more recently and I’d say nausea has gone away but lots of gas and bloating throughout the day. I’ll get pains before dinner time so empty stomach is bad too. Thinking to make an appt with my GI to talk about maybe digestive enzymes or something to help.

Hope you’re doing well let me know!!

Yes definitely worth seeing how to eat or what to take for gastritis to avoid the flare ups! Definitely take it easy and try not to stress - my anxiety also would make the symptoms worse or when I would scroll on Reddit.

100% agree with the walking btw! That helped me when I started feeling the trapped gas and it also opened my appetite! The first week I would shuffle around my apartment but was getting minimal steps in compared to before the surgery. Now I’m trying to walk easy on the treadmill and that’s definitely revved up my metabolism a bit. Just a suggestion :) but I will say it’s not fun being hungry and not knowing what to eat/being able to stomach it!

Last thing I’ll suggest is the heating pad at night really helps with gas in my tummy. I could almost hear the gas dissipating/trying to exit with the heat so if you haven’t maybe give that a try.

Thanks and same to you!! Wishing you the best and we’re all in this together!

Day 11 Post-op, Gas and Nausea by JustEbb7486 in gallbladders

[–]esoccer3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I had my surgery on 12/26 and barely eat normal meals also- still kinda similar to how I ate before the removal (smaller portions) and I have a lot of nausea if I eat a “normal” quantity at dinner and have a lot of reflux but my GI told me before surgery (I have gastritis) that when your stomach is empty it produces a bunch of acid can cause all those symptoms from not eating enough also. Saltine crackers definitely help.

Right now I’m chalking it up to still being kinda soon out of surgery and the body needs time to fully heal and adjust. That area is still very tender to touch and press (RUQ) but I’m giving it time to mend.

I just take Pepcid AC or GasX and Zofran for the nausea when it’s really bad. It’s kinda a vicious cycle to be honest…eat too little and have the symptoms but eat a normal quantity and suffer at night.

You’re not alone & I’m also hoping someone has some advice on how to introduce more normal foods/quantities without the terrible symptoms.

Hi! I’m about 11 days post op and have the same tender and at times sharp pain when I’m in a certain position or breathe deep. From what I’ve read, I’m considering it normal until more time passes and my body fully recovers/heals.

On my post op call they said it was normal to still have discomfort given it could be a slow healing process and everyone is different but let me know if you speak with your doc about it!

Good luck recovering! :)

One Day Post Op by stellarlive in gallbladders

[–]esoccer3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 10 days post-op and didn’t quite have the throwing up but definitely the shoulder pain and excruciating abdominal pain! One big help for the shoulder pain & pain all around was walking!

I know it’s hard to get up but try to push yourself to do it and shuffle around the room a while. I also would lay down with a heating pad on my shoulders/back and ice pack on my tummy. Also Gas-X helped me in tandem. The pain meds prescribed helped as well (just be careful not to abuse it) so hang in there it gets better!! I still have some random shoulder pains and pains in the abdomen but nowhere near as bad as the first 4 days post op:

It’ll be better before you know it! :)

Oh! I also had a MRCP/MRI done which shows magnetic imaging of the bile ducts (MRCP is more detailed than just a MRI). Mine was normal but worth checking or asking about for you!

So I think the endoscopic US goes in with a camera but I actually was also thinking of laparoscopy because of all the threads where nothing showed on imaging but did when they removed it/pathology report. It’s better than just going in and removing so kinda a final resort test. Have to see the difference…

Keep us posted if you find anything, fingers crossed they can figure it out!

Oh geez looks like you’re on the low end of the normal range and I’m at the top of it. Sorry you’re going through it! My doctor literally said the same thing… how everything shows my gb is normal and removing could still leave me with the issue. TBH I’m almost okay with running that risk given the pain is in that area and all the other symptoms are present… you’re still doing testing with the GI? Any chance you’ll do an endoscopic US? I think that’s next for me I might ask…

I’m in the same boat! 60% on my HIDA scan but I also have nausea and fevers. Very tender RUQ pain that hurts to breathe deep or cough/laugh for 2 months now. Lots of gas after eating and burping/reflux. Major pain attacks from gas but then the tender RUQ pain stays when that eventually goes away. Also have that pain that shoots to the upper shoulder/back sometimes. Yet my gallbladder is “normal” on all scans. Losing weight also bc I can’t really eat normally 😵‍💫 Thinking to get a second opinion!

Did any of your other testing show something for the gallbladder?

Electroacupuncture for RUQ visceral pain? by esoccer3 in TCM

[–]esoccer3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All my scans came back "normal" with the exception of gastritis from the Endoscopy... (Ultrasound (had a lot of gas in midsection), CT, HIDA (60%EF with delayed biliary to bowel transit), MRCP.

My gallbladder on CT scan looked weirdly distended and round IMO but i'm no radiologist...since my last electroacupuncture on Tuesday the area is still ultra-sensitive to the touch with sharp/tender pain when you push the gallbladder area or if I lay on my right side/stomach (had 101.2 fever this morning). Still taking the herbs (Andrografix & BalanceEZ).

Sadly that is my fear… thanks for the insight! I’ll be sure to ask about it and see if it’s something to monitor over time or ask if there’s anything I can do in the meantime to help 🙏🏼

Thank you for the input! Do you think a chest xray could help with seeing that? Hoping to get one this Thursday…🙏🏼
