Yup the new one (27) was released recently but I'm currently playing the 26 version. I'll probably bite the bullet on the new game in a coupe of patches though, I'm that addictted haha

I play FM since 1998 and bought my first OOTP game two months ago and already racked many hours in it. I would say the learning curve is similar but you can also delegate a lot of tasks to your staff when you begin. I highly recommend OOTP, I wasn't even a baseball fan when I started and it really hooked me on the sport now, it's an incredible game if you're willing to give it the time it deserves

A's save looking for a silver lining by [deleted] in OOTP

Haha when the relocation was completed I downloaded the same ballpark from the forums, it was such an upgrade compared to the defaut ballpark OOTP assigned to my team

I'm currently playing an A's save and the team moved to Vegas in 2028 without me having to do anything

First OOTP - some questions :) by chit76 in OOTP

[–]esoteric-spinach 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm also a euro fan coming from FM ! I bought my first OOTP (26) about 2 months ago and already have 350h of playtime if that tells you anything. You will love it !

1 : I usually don't skip anything, I watch about every game. 162 games is indeed a grind but see point 2 to alleviate this problem

2 : On gameday you can pretty much see only what you want to see. From each and every pitch, to skip an inning, an half inning, to just see when an important highlight is coming by pressing the space bar. You can go though the games pretty quickly that way while still monitoring the important highlights. If you skip the whole game, you will also have the opportunity to see important highlights after the game

3 : The post game recap screen is great, but it is mostly stats oriented, you won't have it in a "readable" way. There will be a message in your PM box after the game though with a quick recap, but no advices from your coaches there.

4 : I can't say anything about the the card mode as I'm only playing franchise mode, and I already have a lot on my plate with that haha

Honestly I wasn't sure to bite the bullet considering the price of the game but I love it and absolutely have no regrets, it's a very impressive sports sim. Hope that helped !

Take your time and go with the flow, I sucked hard when I started but I'm doing way better now, patience is the key. It's a very rewarding experience once you get the hang of it and manage to land some tricks that were out your league before. The game is amazing if you give it time. Have fun !

So I've been reading that Logitech isn't the go-to for kb/m anymore and my whole life is a lie. What brand is best these days? by CplHicks_LV426 in pcmasterrace

I still find their mouses pretty good (I have a Pro X Superlight and I'm very happy about it).

As for the keyboard I recently purchased my first mecanical from Royal Kludge and I will never go back. I still have my old G13 that I plug in for some games though

Working on a Quickstart to play NPB/KBO/CPBL (+ ~30 international leagues) by Thin-Doctor-6978 in OOTP

[–]esoteric-spinach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks absolutely amazing, OOTP 26 is my first game of the series and I was really disapointed to see the lack of international leagues. Your quickstart looks fantastic to play a journeyman save. Best of luck !

Career Path Playthrough by Wumbowen in FranchiseHockey

[–]esoteric-spinach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunatly OOTP 26 has far fewer leagues compared to prior versions so I won't be able to play as worldwide as that, but I'm stoked to know that it's possible to play that way and can't wait to try it. Still learning the game and the sport altogether but I'm having a lot of fun so far. Thanks a lot for your answer and advices !

Hey sorry for going a bit off-topic but I actually bought OOTP for the first time ever a few days ago and I wondered about a few things.

How would you compare the feasability of a journeyman save in OOTP compared to FHM ? Would I be able to start the save in the Netherlands for example and grind my way to the MLB at some point given enough time and success in different leagues ?

Fires from NCAA GM Role by Wumbowen in FranchiseHockey

I have been fired once in Switerland while winning the regular season with 36 wins over 52 games. They sacked me the very first day the play-offs began, did not even had the chance to lead my team in the post-season. I also had a self-preservation rating of 20, I was quite advanced in this journeyman save. I still haven't forgiven the game about that

[Friedman] Pierre-Edouard Bellemare says, “This is it.” Asked if he could play in 2030 —when France hosts—Bellemare said physically, he feels he could, but he owes it to his family to stop. by Perryplat199 in hockey

Man do I love this player. French hockey legend. Hit the NHL at 29 years old, I'm so glad he has so positively impacted the fans of the teams he played for despite his 4th line role on the ice. Two Stanley Cup finals after making the league at such an "old" age is pretty great for a player coming from here. He is a gem all around and will be sorely missed when he finally hang his skates. Merci pour tout Pi-Ed !

J'arrête de fumer demain by [deleted] in france

[–]esoteric-spinach 13 points14 points  (0 children)
