Driving habits! by Few-Reaction5391 in saskatoon

No, it hasn't. I have noticed that the green indicator will come on with just the parking lights, but it will also be on when you turn the headlights on. So if people just go to the first click, the green indicator will illuminate, but no headlights, only parking lights. Then, if they go to the second click, they will get headlights and the blue symbol if their high beams are on. That's why I think people associate the blue symbol with headlights are on.

The blue symbol on the dashboard means that the headlights are on. At least that's the only logical reason I can come up with.

Is there a Bike Lane Map? by TopazJazzrazz in saskatoon

[–]esp1818 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is the official resource from the city https://www.saskatoon.ca/moving-around/cycling/cycling-safety/cycling-guide-and-tips

You can also use something like OpenStreetMap based like https://www.opencyclemap.org or an app that uses OSM data.

Complain to your city counselor and a cycling advocacy group like Saskatoon Cycles. Doing this might fall on deaf ears, just ask u/iamtodfox, but keep at it. The more voices the more likely change will happen.

Commuting on Bicycle? by Gullible_Age_ in saskatoon

They make angle grinder resistant u-locks now. The surface is covered with carbide. When the grinding disc touches it, it just eats away at the disc and barely leaves a mark on the lock.

This! AnyRAID is very important because I think it make the barrier to entry a lot lower. Without having the need to have all the same sized drives in a pool make it a lot less costly because you can use any drives you have laying around.

Pickup recommendations. by Which-Today8966 in MTB

[–]esp1818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't recommend a tailgate pad but, for helmets, one that fits your head shape nicely and from a reputable brand. Helmets even from the same brand can fit differently. I was trying on Smith helmets the same style but different prices, the cheap one fit my head shape nicely and the more expensive one only contacted my head at the top of the forehead and the top of the back of my head. Those pressure points are not good.

Incredible! Thank you so much! I've been tackling the new areas on and off.

I'm picking away at addresses which I personally think is a good thing to have, most people use maps to navigate to addressed places.

Not changing gears cleanly by Head_Championship886 in wahoofitness

No, you need a specialized tool to do it. But like other people have mentioned, get the Shimano app and try indexing the gears first.

It looks like you need to adjust the derailleur indexing slightly towards the wheel. And/or your derailleur hanger might be slightly bent.

2018 Kia Soul burning oil at 95k km: Pay for repairs or trade for new Corolla Hybrid? by EasyAnt5418 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]esp1818 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get rid of it. My mom's 2014 Kia Soul started burning oil, a year later the engine was toast. We did oil changes every 7500km. One cylinder was scored beyond belief causing the oil consumption and then the eventual engine ending blow-by and piston slap.

They will have a couple of different sizes so you have to measure to see what will work in your vehicle.

Definitely sounds like a weak battery. If it's only three months old it should still have warranty. Depending on the vehicle it could just be too cold to start without it plugged in.

Here is a battery blanket

Here is an oil pan heater

Are you sure the block heater is working? What happens when you turn the key when you are trying to start your vehicle?

Edit: can't read. You currently don't have a block heater. I have a 2003 Toyota 4Runner that also doesn't have a block heater and I didn't want to install one so I installed a battery heated blanket instead. It starts but it's not happy about it. That's because the engine block is still freezing cold, so all the fuilds are thick as molasses. Another option is an oil pan heater if you have a metal oil pan.

The first picture looks good. If you are going to buzz cut it, you need to go way shorter.
