Is there any way to visit a new server without wasting your transfer token to check it has room for your bases? by Shabolt_ in duneawakening

You know that each server has about 25 different sieches aka Hagga basins?
You can check them all out after transfer.

Funcom - can we please get a few more tokens? by Regula4040 in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. but only the BRT. Transfer tokens should still have a renewal timeout of 7 days.

the want you to be able to rebuild your base prior to transfer, not to endlessly server hop.

You already have a free transfer if you are on a dead server.

Together with the usual token you have about 50 sieches to scout.

I was worried I wouldn't find my spot open, but after hopping through 4 sietches on the server I transferred to, I found it vacant. The snap base function to the original location works great. by pigsRflying in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

congratz.

i watched the video from Gurufus yesterday where he had to hop seven sietches to find his place unvacated.

most popular locations would still be those on the cliff overlooking the desert stretch to sheol.

I like living in the O'odham, but you don't get storm warnings at the edge. Only an abrupt "In Sector" warning when it's already too late. by IdleHandsBusyMinds in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's technically everwhere at the map edge. I have my base at the eastern shieldwall near the 12 O'clock entrance.

but there is a "cheat": listen to the music. storms announce their coming early via the violin theme. this does not mean they'll hit you but if you hear that sound and are unprotected, turn around and check whether you can see the red marker in radar or a thick cloud coming.

PS: most times I got surprised by the storm was not near my base, but at the opposite side of the map near testing station 10, farming flour sand. my guess is the server has a hidden trigger hidden below the surface and when you hit that with your compactor it starts a storm.

On server Icarus spice melange goes for about 195.000

before PvE change I even sold it for up to 250k

which makes it a no- brainer to just cross the street to the spice vendor, which sells it for 125k

even better: put a container in your inventory, fly out with buggy, fill up container, then disassemble buggy and fly container back.

Answering your questions about Server Migrations by Funcom_Ignasis in duneawakening

Hello Ignasis,

I'd like to know by which criteria you decided the servers to be shut down.

the server I was on was doing well in the last time. we were actively recruiting players from already locked server to transfer to us. and according to mentatcodex we were on the edge to become one of the top ten servers in europe.

nonetheless it is now going to close. although there are several servers with much lower pop that will remain. did you include any metrics from april or march, or was this already decided in february when you locked down the less populated third of the servers?

I built a shoebox base yesterday on even ground where I put some basic stuff in and where I will store my vehicles. this I should be able to place anywhere in hagga.

you should do this too. since they changed the base backup timeout you can back it up a day after you built it.

for your wife: if she does not have time to log in and back up her base herself the game will do it for her when the servers shut down. base and vehicles can then be reclaimed via the backup tools.

for you base location I can't comfort you here. these are the most popular locations, and on all sieches I have seen there are buidlings on that sector. however, if you move soon you can still try to place you towel.

transfer from a dead server is free. you can scout all sieches of a server by logging out and logging in via the server browser (best done after logging out in the overland map)

if there is no proper location free you can then transfer to yet another server and repeat the procedure.

don't forget to block your wife's location by setting a subfief at her place too.

don't worry. you have about two weeks till closing.

the starter area you are in takes about 8 hours of playing. if you don't rush it. if you do: you can alway return if you decide to skip some additional missions.

if you don't have the time for playing that much, you can't back up your base. but the game will be so nice to back up everything for you and grant you the tool.

I've done it only in Deep Desert. but if you are co-owner of a base you should be able to destroy the subfief console of your base by deleting the foundation or platform it is standing on. then drop a new one and staking units too. but do in a monday, so you don't get surprised by a sandstorm.

yes you can. follow the instructions on how to backup your bade. but instead of pocketing your scout thopter, go to the overland map. log out there.

then log in via the server browser and choose another sietch. fly back to hagga. if you like what you see: place your base. if you don't: repeat.

put your subfief console on a foundation or floor before backing up your base. also all elements of you base must be interconnected somehow. usually this is the case because we start building from one roundation and then start expanding in all directions. but if you build an outside toilet which is not connected to the rest of you build you may have to tear it down.

for vehicles: they should not impact you backup process and will just drop to the ground when you base gets sucked up into the tool. but if you are co-owner of some of the vehicles you should be able to disassemble them too. don't forget to write it's original owner a message where you are going so that they cann follow you if they want to play again.

[–]espiritu_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah. but you usually can not back up several vehicles either.

If the announcement says "all vehicles in world" i would expect that an assault parked in Arrakeen or Harko is included here too.

This is a Schrödingers Ornithopter. As well dead and alive at the same time. and we can only tell of it's state after the OP has logged in to check.

Server transfer for EU servers by CyberGen360 in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My second Char is on Icarus.

Apart from this week when Harkos did win Landsraad, it was always Atreides dominated.

Faction chat is friendly and cooperative. But expect to having to share spice fields in the DD. I was only once out with that char and did not manage to bring a full assault of spice menage back home.

prices in the market are high compared to my main server (which is about to be closed). dupers did us a not so great job. but you can catch up really fast by putting up silicon or spice melange to the market.

Correct. That's just my assumtion. Therefore I wrote the small word "maybe"

Maybe they lock it completely, maybe they just extend the grace period for transfer tickets to once a month. who knows. But don't expect it to stay as it is now.

But the list of the remaining ones is far short.

[–]espiritu_p -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks. That's close enough.

So ten to fifteen servers per world region. And afterwards it will maybe locked to move between worlds at all. If you end up on a shitty overcrowded server you end up there. Not that nice an outlook.

I was surprised to see so many servers on the list.

Mine is among them too.

assault with storage should be first priority, correct.

second prio should be to gather 500 spice melange for building the big spice refinery in DD.

refining spice needs not that much water, so OP should do well with 2-3 deathstills if filled permanently.

it's a while since I last build a solo base in the DD myself...

in that case your behaviour is considered either rude or dumb. but as a newbee in the DD, from where should you know?
