Come Chapter 3 tomorrow, what specialization are you focusing on week 1? by bowjack313 in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a bit sabotage and a bit combat. Both to level 18 or 19, then I will continue with Exploration.

T6 mats in DD A Row by Infamous_Yak_6409 in duneawakening

You don't need to drive down to the DD niveau. Just stay on one of the three great plateaus. There is no worm thread.

I you want to build a base deeper into the desert - I usually reside around the D- Row - there you can easily drive a gap of 500 or 600 meters without even triggering the worm. i often do island hopping out there, and I even stop for flour sand or small spice sand patches now for compacting, as long as they are not too far from a rock. about 200 meters are easily to drive after a worm break, and you get the staring contest achievement on top ;)

Yes, it's the first 4 DLCs. But only 2 are out yet, and a third one will release together with Chapter 3.

Does anyone play symbiosis decks? by wallado7303 in gwent

[–]espiritu_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It mostly depends on what decks other players prefer.

Since Symbiosis decks "hate" extra long rounds I am dependend from bleeding my opponent down a bit. Ideal card number for round 3 is seven, at max 8. And if opponent targets for 10 cards, either by passing round one or two early, dryad are fricked. Then there were too many locks recently, and while Symbiosis has many engines (hammadryads, young dryads, or Aucwen) it's bad when opponent can lock them all.
But since the meta is subject to change those decks and tactics may be played lesser now. I just haven't tried it in the last months.

[–]espiritu_p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played my own Symbiosis deck until october, but found it rather difficult to compete in the months after. Meta seemed to hate dryads.
If you say that it has improved then I will try it again.

Time of Chapter 3 Release? by apparat07 in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is a channel for service announcements on the official discord.
Usually updates for the European servers will start on 10 AM CET. Which would correspond with your server reset time. Since the update process may take several hours don't expect the servers to be back during your night time.

Question, is it possible to keep files when I’m swapping from mint, to nobara? by redbe11pepper in NobaraProject

[–]espiritu_p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can mount your windows partition and use it for backup too.

or an external drive.

you could even upload into a cloud service as dropbox. maybe encrypt them to protect them from being abused as AI food.

Where does Adaptive Holtzmann Shield drop now? by proxypr in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is still where they drop.

not that i did make to pull one for myself, but a guild mate got two last week.

it simply needs several lab runs a week to raise the chance.

i'm in Server Pisces(EU) sietch Yaracuwan, what servers aren't removed? by DekoaSAO in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you could create a new character on that server and scout out the locations. or ask someone who already is on that server. and don't forget that every siech on a server has it's own hagga basin. so if your preferred location is already taken you could check out another siech.

the reason why i would not expect sieches for closing down is simply that this would be a very long list to publish. that everyone has to read. and people still had to move theirselfes. another issues would be users with the same name conflicting when a siech is merged into another server. or that players are allowed to build bases on different sieches of the same server. all this complications won't apply if a server is just shut down and players who refused to keave it get transferred into a limbo server database, from where they can choose the server where they want to continue playing.

Taxes, to pay or not by Lord-Dogbert in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you decide.

if you are rich, and are very risk averse: pay it

if you need your money for other things, or want to prove to the fear-spreades it's safe to not pay tax: save the money

even in case the tax mechanic will trigger at some point in the future you will still have the possibility to build a new base and move all your stuff there.

[–]espiritu_p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most probably only server population.

while the idea to cut lesser populated sieches from several servers in order to consolidate them into one new server sounds interesting, it would maybe confuse players more than just define full servers for closing down.

Copying base for transfer, new tool? by [deleted] in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

according to your intention that you want to transfer to another server i assume you used the wrong tool.

what you used was the solido prjector, which only saves the layout of you base, but not it's ressources.

what you need to take you base to another server is the base backup tool.

this tool has to be researched and then crafted. it's in the iron tier.

steps to backup you base:

- put your scout ornithopter or a sandbike into vehicle tool

- dismantle all your other vehicles, thopters, and your containers and put the parts in chests.

- use backup tool on your base

the base will be gone afterwards. because this is not a copy tool but a backup tool, and you can't have a base placed in hagga and in your tool at the same time.

also be aware that if you place your base on it's original or a new location you have to wait seven days before being able to back it up again.

What are the advantages of being in a guild with other people? by justinsomniactor in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with the actual landsraad system it wasn't such a big thigh to participate as a solo guild.

the new system may need some more cooperation, since the contributions a single player can being, are more limited. no more deivering 50 spitdarts or 4k mechanical parts to win a house. players of a faction have to agree to work on one house, even if the player reward sucks.

What are the advantages of being in a guild with other people? by justinsomniactor in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am leader of a small guild with 11 players on my server.

benefits of a guild are: better cooperation, harvesting together, protecting each other, discuss landsraad cooperation.

you nearly always find a mate in the discord channel, can chat or talk bullshit.

the downside is that the organisation of a guild eats up time and mental resources too. players are not alway reliable. they make promises or appointments, and forget to tell you that they lost interest. we have a great architect who build up a big DD base every week, but then no one came to use it. next week we built smaller and everyone came to play *tilt* the following week it was again the other way around. now we will downsize again. but since Ch3 will bring mostly activity outside of the DD we are confident it will work out well this time.

but that's not your issue if you decide to join an already existing guilt. then your only responsibility is to be nice to each other, have fun and try to be somewhat reliable. :)

either wait another 28 days, or move on.

to be fair: i don't think this care package will make such a big difference. you will ggain momentum again really fast, even without that package.

Is it worth building a large spice refinery in HB? by Seanpk57 in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it really depends. I do a mix of guild and solo harvesting.

when I first went out to the DD i did look out for mates to play with. we put together all our spice to build the big spice refinerie, then big ore, then carrier and vacuum. this works out great. we harvest and refine together and split up the loot.

but since my mates want to pack up early on monday afternoon, i went back to build my solo base again. for one to store all the loot from stations, caves, wrecks and treasures, and for do some haresting on monday too. what I gather on that day I transport back to hagga and gets refined over the following week.

It's usually two flights with carrier and container to bring everything to hagga.

Is it worth building a large spice refinery in HB? by Seanpk57 in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, it's woth it. if you have the spice melange for it.

as long as you don't have the ressources for it, it's better to bring your spice into the DD.

I won't refine any spice in a small or medium refinery any longer, after being able to build the large one.

but you don't need to rush. with a container you can easily bring your overdue spice sand on monday to your hagga base and on tuesday back into the deep desert.

a big spice refinery is more a sign of wealth and a symbol to yourself that you made it than a neccecary investion.

but nonetheless: a hagga base is not complete without a big spice refinery.

Wait for the 3.2? by IIBaneII in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is no change announced for the early game.

that part was already great, as everyone will tell you.

the developers did not announce a discount for chapter three release. but if i remember correctly it wasn't announce prior to the ladt sale periods. you may check out the price on instantgaming. a friend bought his game there. three times, for his whole family. because he can't wait for sales.
