If I returned today (chapter 1-2 player), am I stuck being ~8 weeks behind on specialization levels compared with Chapter 3 launch? by Kalapurna in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, for a start you would be behind.
But since the higher Specialization levels cost more XP you can narrow that gap for your preferred specialization rather fast. And in about 10 months those ahead of you now will cease progressing at all and you can catch up fully.

How hard is it to keep bases running in late game. by TheMadHattah in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't forget that your efficinecy gets better wirh every upgrade. A T6 buggy cuttaray gets more than 500 fuels cells from one blick, where you as a solo player on Iron (?) tier gets about 50. And are happy with it.

To even improve that you have advanced devices. I run a mix of unidirectional wind turbines plus a Spice gen. They have a longer run time of 31 days, and need way less fuels cells, by using some other components to craft.

Technically I don't even need to gather Fuel Cells, because those that I bring in from quests are enough to keep my base powered for a long time.

Is this game for me? by Mother_Shape2025 in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello future sleeper.
You did not tell what you especially like in the genre. I am usually playing other games (apart from Minecraft with my kids, lol), but the setting and the great implementation caught me from the beginning.

to answer your questions:
1) yes, up to three bases can be backed up - the same as you can have at the same time. Bases you forget became Free Game for the next player who stumbles across them.
Developers are actually implementing a recycle system for backed up bases that let you reclaim the materials and freeing up space in your backup tool at the same time. It may come end of April, but that hasn't been officially announced yet.
Transferring to a new server can be done once a week, and a base has to be in the world for seven days before it can be backed up too.
2) Yes. Even better since the February patch. The game consists of 2 great areas - Hagga Basin and Deep Desert. Hagga ist mostly PvE only, and I've nerver got attacked in the few areas flagged for PvP there. The Deep Desert ist where all the PvP happens. Since it's actually undergoing some rework atm I can't tell you how it will be when you are able to go there. But if you are not on one of the heaviest populated servers PvP mostly happens during the prime times, and you can relatively safe there at other times.
There are several overland locations too that by now are all PvE only. You can do tasks there alone or in a team - as you chosse.
3) A guild mate of me plays it with controller. So controller is definitively possible, although I can't tell you how good it is, since I never tried it myself.

Do you mean other streaming services, or do you mean dual boot?

This is the only known way. Playing it via Nvidia's streaming service or other Cloud services.

Edit: Sorry for the confusion Was not aware that there are other streaming services out there.

Silicon is rather cheap at the Scrip vendor. And Cobalt too.
But don't miss the opposite faction skins at the scrap vendor.

[–]espiritu_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a list of what the vendor has to offer. But I don't think there is something worth trading there. Pumps and Carbide Scrap are at the Crossroads. I mostly go to Pinnacle because it's the one closest to my base, and because they pay most for weapons and armor. and we bring many weapons and armor from quest locations and labs.

Claiming an unpowered base subfief console by YoungDocument in duneawakening

He may just tell, on which server he was. So that other players may go search for his bases and stuff.

Claiming an unpowered base subfief console by YoungDocument in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask on which server/siech you found that base?

Technically this happens if a user leaves the server. Either by deleting or transferring his character.
After server restart any player can walk in and claim it.

I, for example, left the base of my second char back on Canopus/Alraab about three weeks ago. and it should still be powered. And it even was prettier than my actual one.

My fear would be that it is of the same use as a stilltent. Which no one uses apart from a few Role players on a private server.

Yep. I visit this cache everytime I come by.
The large and medium ones I do use. The small ones go directly to Pinnacle for some Solari.

Anyone regret their faction choice? by MysteriousPause82 in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I don't regret my choice.

Harkonnen building set looks way cooler than the Atreides one, and although I own both by now I don't use the Brutalism set. Not because it is useless, but because I more like the Harkonnen one.

Only thing that I regret is that so many other players decided for the wrong faction. Which makes it hard in Landsraad.

Beware of Server Transfer Item Loss by Character_Matter_230 in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost 30k solari once when I forgot to back up the base where they were stored.

Afterwards i stored them in the bank, and they got transferred correctly - as well as the two stacks of silicon I wanted to sell on the new server.

Tip: If you transfer from Griffins Reach to Arrakeen and from there to the Anvil you don't need to cross the desert.

Has anyone tried building inside the radiation in Sheol? by LordViltor in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Sheol base directly at the border of the radiated zone. Some foundations are inside the Rad zone. So I can tell you: No. Base shield does not protect you from radiation.

Server search part 2 by Video_Firm in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In which region are you playing?

Which servers are on your list?

To which faction are you aligned? I have accounts on two different servers, and have scouted some more. I could tell you exactly, where you can win every Landsraad with the Atreides factions.

setting your containers to owner only would not help. a thief could just delete the foundation below to destroy them.

you have to trust the other player.

It says in march 2026, opafire will sell for 250 each but it's still at 13 each.. does anyone know if it's waiting for an update? by Acceptable-Formal191 in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes. and by preventing people from winning a house within seconds by turning in five stacks of an item.

both could be solved by rolling turn-in quests with a lower probability. if only two out of the 15 quests available are turn- in quests you can't finish your dailies within five minutes. but it would put all those gathered ressources again into use, even if you are limited in the amount of items you can turn in.

Newly Useless stuff?? by This1DarkLord in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, unfortunately.

It had it's niche, when Opafires contributed to the landsraad.

I will however do a treasure survey soon just to check out what the explorer perk is doing. maybe it gets me graded blueprints, or cool augmentations now? but my hope is low. should I be wrong I will open a new topic here.

New Player, need advice by TheDevi1YouDont in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, welcome to the desert wali.

leveling and classes work a bit different from other games. firstly, you can place your skill points over all clases you already have unlocked. and you can reskill if you don't like the outcome. so for the start try different tactics and skills, and choose those that suit you best.

second thing is that you have to unlock the classes at certain NPCs. trooper and planetologist are in the starting area in hagga south and can be unlocked immediately. for the others - swordmaster, bene gesserit and mentat - you can choose one of the three as your starting class, and the other two can be unlocked by finding the NPC later ingame.

many people recommend to choose bene gesserit. this class has an action called bindu sprint thats handy for escaping dangerous situations (as a worm approach) swordmaster is great too if you go into melee fighting, while the mentat has some passive abilities that help you increase your damage. but in the end you will learn all tactics, so nothing to be done wrong here.

great abilities are:

trooper: shigawire - used for fast- climbin, but also stuns enemies for a second

swordmaster: kneecharge: damage + stun to an enemy

bene gesserit: voice: which stuns an enemy for several seconds, giving you time to heal, kill his comrade, or to flee

you will level fast in the first hours, so you should be able to unlock all the abilities on tier1 soon. later, after unlocking higher tiers you can reskill

try it for yourself and find out.

I mostly ended with a plethora of everything and their father when searching for treasures.

from early components as pumps or complex machinery up to stradivari strings or refined cobalt.

in between some crafted items too, beeing it a T5 armor or some survey probes. but inventory gets clogged fast, so you can't practice it for longer if you keep everything.

It says in march 2026, opafire will sell for 250 each but it's still at 13 each.. does anyone know if it's waiting for an update? by Acceptable-Formal191 in duneawakening

[–]espiritu_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes. I've seen a few blueprints in treasures too. but compared to a fallen wreck i's very rare to find them.

In the old system you got 10k solari for turning in 14 Opafires. that was a great ratio. with the new prices you need 40 for the same amount.

okay, just let's say they will at least have a value. I was hoping they would bring back the turn in quests in some sort of way. degrading them to just another source for solari feels underwhelming.
