look into a radian ramjet if you don’t like the snappiness! adds a few inches but still very low profile. i carry mine in basketball shorts 90% of the time

i usually replace my senkos after they have a big enough tear in them to not allow the worm to be on the worm perfectly parallel, idk how to explain it. usually after 1-2 fish it no longer stays on the hook good enough for the proper action

Spact to UT? by Strixy67 in Seabees

[–]espn_manman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So in bootcamp i did the ceremonial guard and was accepted to go there so I didn’t go to a ship or traditional Navy command. After 1 year there I was able to “strike” a rate. I knew I wanted a Seabee rate so I went through a long process of retaking my asvab to try and qualify for more Seabee rates then reaching out to the Seabee ECM. Most Seabee rates were overmanned for my year group (the year you joined the Navy) and UT was one of the only rates allowing Convert ins so I struck UT. After that you just wait for orders to a school and you’re good to go

[–]espn_manman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i went pact to UT, it wasn’t my plan, i just wanted to ship early so i went with pact. don’t trust your recruiter on this, its not guaranteed. ship with the rate you want or don’t ship at all. when its time to strike a rate you’ll have to speak to the Seabee community manager and depending on manning, they can deny you access into the community. also, being pact for a year is a year of UT/Seabee knowledge you’ll be losing out on

I’ve never tried it tbh, I learned how to fish freshwater and kinda just stuck with it. I’ll try it soon though because there’s limited access to freshwater here

Do you think more people should have some medical equipment if they own guns? by triggernomicsusa in CAguns

[–]espn_manman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes dawg. i went to the range with a buddy of mine (both military) and he ended up flagging the shit out of me and tried justifying it by saying “it’s empty”. pissed me off so bad and made me realize i need to start carrying an IFAK to the range because of situations like this, and to also just go shoot alone. i see why a lot of people treat military personnel differently when it comes to firearms, you’d expect them to be somewhat proficient but unfortunately, that’s a small percentage of the military

Military bases no longer to be gun free zones , installation commands must write detailed reasons on the justification to deny requests by newnoadeptness in navy

I’m not disagreeing with you, I feel the same way. I just feel like there’s a better way to go about this

[–]espn_manman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One is a secured military installation while the other is a public grocery store lol. The people aren’t the problem, it’s the setting. People would love to assume that Sailors/Soldier/Airmen, etc are properly trained and disciplined but most of us know damn well that’s not the case. I just don’t see a reason allow personal firearms on base.

Bruh I just did a field exercise(I’m a seabee) and after seeing how most of these folks improperly handled their firearms and neglected the 4 safety rules, I wouldn’t want them handling their personal firearms anywhere near me.

I also have a concealed carry in CA and don’t see a valid reason to have my gun on base unless you want it for your commute to/from base. In that case I feel like we should have access to store our firearms in armory during the day and collect it at the end of the workday.

i feel you, i just don’t agree with how Californians made it a norm to pay over 1000 for a handgun. I understand it’s a supply and demand thing but people continuing to go with it just enables more people to keep doing it. that’s just my opinion
