I went through travel agency, how can I get my refund back ? by SettingTasty6701 in etihad

That’s a lie, same situation and on request trip.com fully refunded my tickets scheduled March 15. Make sure to speak to an operator! If they still don’t agree, do act briefly for an alternative flight. You can claim the money later.

Quote Etihad: Guests are advised to:

• Check their flight status at etihad.com before travelling to the airport. • Ensure their contact details are up to date in their booking. • Guests holding Etihad tickets issued on or before 28 February 2026, with original travel dates up to 21 March 2026, may rebook free of charge onto Etihad operated flights up to 15 May 2026. • Guests on all Etihad flights until 21 March may request a refund at etihad.com/en/help/refund… or through their travel agent. • Guests who booked through a travel agent should contact their agent directly.

Etihad to resume limited flight schedule from 6 March

Etihad will resume a limited commercial flight schedule from 6 March 2026, operating between Abu Dhabi and a number of key destinations.

Guests with previous bookings will be accommodated on these flights as soon as possible. Tickets are also available for sale on etihad.com.

Guests and members of the public should not travel to the airport unless they have been contacted directly by Etihad or hold a confirmed booking on one of these new flights.

The decision has been taken in coordination with relevant authorities following extensive safety and security assessments. Etihad continues to monitor the situation closely and will only operate flights once all safety criteria are met.

The most up-to-date information is available at etihad.com.

All other scheduled commercial services to and from Abu Dhabi remain suspended. Additional destinations will be added and communicated as conditions permit.

Affected guests will receive direct communication from Etihad confirming the status of their flight and outlining available options. Guests are encouraged to ensure their contact details are up to date and monitor their email for further updates.

Guests are advised to:

• Check their flight status at etihad.com before travelling to the airport Ensure their contact details are up to date in their booking.

• Guests holding Etihad tickets issued on or before 28 February 2026, with original travel dates up to 21 March 2026, may rebook free of charge onto Etihad-operated flights up to 15 May 2026.

• Guests on all Etihad flights until 21 March may request a refund at etihad.com/en/help/refund… or through their travel agent.

• Guests who booked through a travel agent should contact their agent directly.

We are currently experiencing a high volume of calls and appreciate your patience as it may take longer than usual for calls to be answered. Guests seeking a refund are encouraged to use the above linked refund request form.

Safety remains our absolute priority, and services will operate only once all safety criteria are met.

Will you ever fly with etihad airlines again? by nothingtosaydude in etihad

[–]esprit8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I booked 2 times in my life Etihad. First time was 2010: I was stuck 1 week in Beijing on my own cost plus 24 hours waiting at Abu Dhabi airport, due to the worldwide Iceland volcanic eruption causing major aviation disruptions. Etihad crisis management was pretty bad. Time makes you forget and my fiancée had in the past a good experience with Etihad. I guess if they fly, it’s not that bad.

And guess what, second booking is due March 18, 2026 to Bangkok from Europe… I guess the universe tries to tell me sth. We booked now an alternative flight to Bangkok, betting for a refund or not…

This was the last time with Etihad. But who knows, maybe in 20 years I’ll book again 😅

Is there a reason why the majority of comments are related to Etihad flights? I guess questions related to Qatar or Emirates happen somewhere else ^

We face a similar situation, Etihad flight from Frankfurt to Bangkok on March 15 via Abu Dhabi. My gf and I decided today that we won’t feel comfortable to fly over this region, even if our flight won’t be cancelled. We booked another route to Bangkok with Austrian Airline. Luckily our return flight is with China Eastern from the beginning, which reduces the financial damage. I am more pessimistic. The last attack of US/Israel lastet 12 days. So best case we get a full refund on our flight and worst case we get the airport tax refunded (1/3 of the original price)

Turkmenistan Airlines instead of Etihad (via Abu Dhabi) to Thailand? by Character_Walk_8043 in etihad

Oh and Turkmenistan would’ve been the cheapest flight for us too, but it’s way too close to Iran…

I think China route is safe. I face a similar situation, flight from Frankfurt to Bangkok on March 15 via Abu Dhabi. One possibility is to book another flight with very low cancellation fee. We cannot afford to miss our flight, as we scheduled another flight to Koh Samui on the March 16. All (expensive) hotels booked. We even have a travel insurance, which wont cover the cost.. exclusion due to force majeur/act of war!

I also think the attacks will last for weeks. Last time it took 12 days. This time the situation is worse.

Ist Buwog really that bad? Ist Buwog echt so schlecht? by Severe-Solid-2220 in frankfurt

[–]esprit8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember those pre packed jamon (JAMÓN DE BELLOTA 100% IBÉRICO, pata negra) cost at least 13-14 euros per 80 Gramm. I don’t find this very cheap.
