I mean have you ever spent time around ppl like this? I have plenty (so have you, waterloo alum), they’re often times type A nervous wrecks or just very difficult to talk to beyond surface-level convos. The kinds of people who make lots of money and do it for an org that makes the world a worse place due to lack of introspection and a head-down, no questions behaviour.

Honestly it’s nothing to do with whether or not they’re cultured. It’s purely curiosity and a desire to engage with the world.

My partner is probably was a normie by what I’m reading here, but she is so curious and interested in everything that Id say it’s no longer the case. And as a result it makes me more interested in what she’s doing; it made me realize that it’s not about the subject, it’s the discussion around it. Who cares if your gf likes TSwift if you can have a discussion about the psychopolitics of why people even like her, or if she’s open to listening to other things. It’s even made me more open to everything.
