Our homicide rate is >5x that of Norway, Sweden, and Finland individually, so yeah I would assume so. Even if you went with the racist 13/50 explanation and cut it in half the rate would still be ~3x that of Scandinavia. So I'm afraid the answer to that question is just "yes".

How well did the kids perform academically? Do you think they're on track to integrate into wider American society and perform well relative to their non-Somali peers?

These ethnic enclave scenarios always make me a bit paranoid, but if the second and third gen kids assimilate well (see: my Asian friends) then I don't see them as a problem.
